Bible more real, can better see people & events
One of the best finds ever. Life-changing, enriching experience in the Word. I believe now at a deeper more profound level.

This book is filled with geographical details. It's fabulous for gaining an understanding of the lay of the land. It's also great for learning about the people of the area and the way they think. It can be dry at times and hard to follow some of the maps, but it has helped me a great deal. Excellent reference book!

Excellent.
You can't study archaeology of the ancient near east and archaeology of the Bible without this work. This is probably the best work on this subject. Fantastic!

Land of the Bible By Yohanan Aharoni
This Book is Excellant and better than I could ever imagined. There are places the Bible speakes of that you cannot locate on most maps, however the maps in this book takes away all doubts of where it is. It is an excellent tool for anyone that studies the Bible and I highly recommend that they add it to their study collection.

Worth reading, but a bit dry
I enjoyed the book but not as much as I had hoped. It is filled with so many superflous details, that at times I was lost waiting for the author to reach his point of deliever the information I was looking for. If someone is looking for an indepth book on the history and geography of Israel and the surrounding region, then this is a great read. However, if basic information concerning the geography of Isreal (especially during the first century) is what you are after, then pass on this one.

This was the second edition, published in 1979. I bought it as a used copy, but in fact it was absolutely "brand new", obviously a remaindered copy. The only thing preventing me from listing it as "fine" was a slight fading of the spine of the dust wrapper. Of course, the book is well known as a classic and its contents agree with this.
