Latches are too tight
I am not strong enough to do the latches. I still use it with a paper plate under it. Absolutely NO instructions as to time. I do like how it contains the grease.

Works well if you know its quirks
I've used a lot of high capacity bacon cookers so this intrigued me. It's difficult to assess, starting with it having no name for itself or its manufacturer on Amazon or on its box, just “Made in China” next to the box's barcode. It’s cheap construction and has some design quirks that border on being flaws. Those flaws are easily worked around, and that said, the thing works. What it does well is provide spatter-free microwave bacon cooking with a fairly easy load & unload, and easy cleanup. That’s what it’s supposed to do.But there are some things to know along the way.First, the top has latches that hold it to the base. They don’t have to be latched in cooking; they fit in slots, so the top stays put, and the latch tabs are handles to lift and move the thing. Snug them down for storage. It’s a clever design, but undocumented (no directions come with it). Then, it will be HOT when you take it out of the microwave, particularly the bottom where the grease gathers. Those tabs on either side help, but better to put it on a plate in the microwave, and better still, sit it on a pot older on the plate (or folded paper towels). If you snuged down the top let it cool for a few minutes before struggling with those latches; otherwise, lift the top off and let it set. Let the bacon cool down before taking it off the paddles.About those eight paddles where the bacon hangs. It’s a good design but they could be longer to accommodate wider or thick cut bacon. Adding an inch, maybe more, to the diameter would also increase the capacity of the grease well at the bottom (which would help accommodate grease from thick cut bacon) and would reduce the temperature of that hot grease reservoir. Some adjoining bacon slices will stick together at the center of the 8-paddle holder in cooking because they all snug up together to the center post. You can reduce that by alternating how the bacon is loaded – meat edge in, meat edge out, and so on. A larger diameter center post would help with this because the paddles would be spaced farther apart.I like that the hanging paddles extend all the way down. Some vertical bacon cookers don’t, and the two halves of the slices invariably find each other and cook together. That makes it hard to unload, too, but this thing doesn’t have that problem. Also, the full paddles promote consistent results. One reviewer here said there was no guidance as to how long to cook the bacon. I start with 40 seconds per (thick cut) slice in my 1150 watt microwave. Your time will vary depending on your wattage and whether the bacon is regular or thick (and if you want to be fussy about it, your altitude). Also, a full load will cook differently than a half load. You just have to find your sweet times. Start with 45 second per slice and adjust up or down by increments of 5 seconds until you get the degree of doneness you want (more time crispy, less time chewy, for example).I wish the top was clear so the bacon doneness could be checked, and time added (or the cooking stopped) without having to remove and disassemble the thing. Otherwise, I like the top because it effectively catches all the spatter and directs it into the reservoir at the bottom of the base. Regarding that base, it could do with pour spouts on either side but works well enough with them (take note, it isn’t dripless). There will be a lot of grease in that reservoir – be prepared with a grease pot or jar or can handy! At the top of the cover is a rubber hole marked as a “crisper” on the box but it’s really a necessary pressure release valve. A removable white cover on the top has finger holes for lifting the unit but after a few uses doesn’t snap back onto the top securely. It can be discarded.I cook a lot of bacon at a time so in my perfect world this thing would have a much larger diameter so the paddles could each take two slices (and the capacity would double to 16). But it’s workable as is, if you’re aware of its quirks and work around them. I’d give it a 5 were it not for those quirks, so it gets a 4 because it does what it’s supposed to do, and does it well.

No cooking instructions
Love the product but have no clue how long to cook the bacon, didn’t come with instructions and also looks to have been used and washed already. Possibly returned. Disappointing..

It works but NO Instructions included !!
There were no instructions on how to use the cooker included in the box. Looked online and nothing there either. Include instruction for a 5 star rating

We liked enough to order a second one.
We previously had one of these. In making a lot of bacon the glass tray in the microwave got so hot it melted the plastic in this item. This had been working so well we ordered this replacement. Lesson learned, when making a lot of bacon with this let the glass tray in microwave cool some between batches.
