Brilliant little pump.
I was reluctant to purchase this due to the number of negative reviews, I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. It is brilliant, such a simple but effective piece of kit, I couldn't fault it. I used a corded drill, as recommended, and this little pumped a good 100 litres of rain water off a flat garage roof. The reason my garage roof flooded is due to a genius who changed the height of the roof next to my garage without moving the drain, basically creating a dam for the rain water. Anyway, I needed the roof drained in order the fit new drainage. This little thing did the job in no time. Just follow the instructions and it'll work perfectly. Yellow end, water in, green end, water out. I submerged the whole unit in a bucket of water until the bubbles stop. Simple as that.

Does what it says on the tin.
A very handy gadget. Good value for money and has made a host of jobs a lot easier. Well made and can empty a 200l water butt in around 20mins or so. Not the fastest but does what it needs to do.

A good pump that is simple to use
Why did you choose this product over others?:Specification was more detailed and informative than other makes. The price is good, and the pump worked simply and well on a domestic cordless drill. My main application is to pump water from a garden rainwater butt uphill to the garden via a hosepipe about 10 metres long, and through a nozzle, which works well. More guidance on mounting the pump and power drill would be helpful.

Works great, for the money is a no brainer
Works really nicely actually. Easier to prime with a very short feed tube - fill the tube, thumb over the source end and click the hozelock on to the pump.Transferred paddling pool water to a pond 1.5m higher with no problems and drill on lowest and thus quietest setting.Hozelock adapters arrived loose and leaked but were fine when tightened.Make sure the output hose has no kinks or hozelock auto close valves or you'll waste as much time as I did trying to fix a perfectly working pump end.You can feel the suction when it's going so start off slow and you'll easily avoid overheating issues. Superb gadget for the money

Not self-priming despite what the advert says!
Firstly, this is not a self priming pump. It is critical that you fill the suction tube and flood the pump to get it working properly. You cannot just dip the suction tube in the water and expect it to work. The pump should ideally be located below the water level of the container to be emptied because the water will drain back into the container and the pump will run dry and be damaged if the outlet is higher than the container being emptied. The other thing to be warned about is that water will leak from the drive shaft bearing when using it. This is more of a nuisance than anything but if used indoors you will definitely want the pump over a container of some sort to catch this, especially if it is anything other than clean water. On the other side, it does work ok when properly primed and connected to a reasonably powerful mains electric drill, but I wouldn't use it at a high speed because I am not sure how the shaft seal would cope. You must properly fix the pump to something that will also support the drill and align the drill with the drive shaft, you cannot hold the pump whilst driving it, it wilI cause you some injury, but this is the case with most of this type of device. You have been warned! It does come with connections to make it an easy connection to standard hose pipe and it is a relatively cheap solution for intermittent use. Cheap and cheerful, it is what it is, it works but is far from perfect.

Excellent pump.
Pump works very well. I was worried it would struggle to pump water from my water butt through 40ft of garden hose but it did it with ease.

excellent water pressure, no leaks, excellent water flow. worth every penny.
i have bought this pump to flush my Seadoo in areas where there is no access to an outdoor tap. i use a 25L container full of water and a dosing bottle attached near my flushing port full of salt away. this setup works perfectly. there is great water flow and pressure and it will run through the 25L in about a minute and half.
