Colgin All Natural Apple Flavored Liquid Smoke - 4oz

This is the only liquid smoke that I buy. It doesn't taste obnoxious. It really adds to the flavor of beans especially.

The product is exactly as advertised and arrived super-fast.

I obviously don't have a smoker, but we like to eat cook-out food year round. I was really bummed that while everything tasted great, it didn't taste like a genuine cookout. This gets me that tasty flavor without having to buy a smoker. I've added it to mac n' cheese, esquites, roasts, "grilled" chicken, dips, sauces, beans. So good.

This liquid smoke gives that delicious smoky savory taste to all sorts of foods that cured meat products normally provide, but without the meat. While other liquid smokes usually taste like cheap imitation barbecue sauce, this applewood smoke really does give that authentic flavor. I like to add it to slow cooked vegetables like collard greens, kale, and green beans, as well as adding few drops in soups or beans. It's very concentrated though so a little goes a long way.

While not a bad product per se, it's not as good as others I tried. The biggest problem is that its ingredients include vinegar, so it changes the flavor profile of the food. If you are making something that benefits from acidity or has vinegar in the recipe, this works. If, on the other hand, you want to use it for delicate items like smoked white fish, it will ruin your food.Since it's sold as "liquid smoke", it should just be liquid smoke like all others (water, smoke, nothing else)
