I love all of my Hawaiian slack key recordings featuring Dennis Kamakahi. 'OHANA (family) is very special in that it features his son David too. Diana, (my wife) and I heard Dennis Kamakahi at the intimate McCoy Studio Theater (with Stephen Inglis) at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in 2012, during our first trip to Maui. Little did we know (at that time) how fortunate we were to be in the presence of one of Hawaii's greatest and most prolific songwriters. Tragically, we lost him to cancer two short years later on Apr. 28, 2014 at only 61 years old. Luckily, this is another in the series of premium Dancing Cat Records (Hawaiian music) recordings.

Wonderful CD
This was my first introduction to Hawaiian music. The father and son team on this CD isdelightful. So easy to listen to.

This beautiful music gets me through nasty kitchen chores and is so very welcome. I love it and I'm sorry Dennis Kamakahi is no longer with us. ♥

I love this cd
Dennis and David (father and son) have put a wonderful album together. I like almost every song. My favorite is track one, Ulili E. My least favorites are tracks 6 and 7...the latter just because I don't like that particular song. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bono, or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir could sing it and I'd still hate it. I enjoy Dennis and David's harmony, as they sing and play together. Nice work. Do some more!!
