Love these speakers.
These are about as good as they come when it comes to Desktop speakers. I spent a decent amount of time researching different types of speakers, and what would work best for me. Desktop speakers turned out to be ideal for my situation, as I'm usually working, gaming, or listening to music from the same spot at my desk (I would go for something a little larger like bookshelf speakers if you want to fill a room with sound and get better audio clarity from everywhere in the room). After deciding on desktop speakers and doing some research, these immediately stood out amongst the audiophile crowd as being some of the best available right now. Despite being over my budget, I ultimately decided to buy once and cry once. When buying speakers, especially high dollar ones, you get what you pay for. And so far after about a week of listening, I'm quite impressed with how much speaker Kanto was able to put into these little speakers. Bass is incredible at their size, to the point that I'm not even worried about pairing them with a subwoofer yet. Would they sound better with one? Yeah, probably. But they sound amazing without. That being said if you don't have neighbors, the sub would still be a nice addition, and unlock the full potential of these speakers.Love these speakers and would recommend.(mount is not included, just something I built to save a little real estate)

Sound perfection..
Just set up my new Ora's. Goal was to use as near field speakers spaced about 48" away on either side of recliner for all types of music using smart phone as source and connected via USB C. (Will probaby connect BT to use with Smart TV) And connected to cheapo, no name 6.5 inch 100 watt subwoofer. Result: Sheer Perfection. Everything sounds great. Beatles, Stones, Eagles, Latin, C&W, Jazz, classical, vocals, instrumentals, all perfect. But can't emphasize enough, get a subwoofer of any size and kind to complete the package. These speakers were designed and engineered to use one. The little 3" midranges kick out some of the 'pokey' bass but you gotta have a bigger boy down there to push out the deep stuff.Way to go, Kanto. I may never get out of this chair..

Better than Audio Engine A2's
Speakers are compact, sound is excellent, bass is punchy, and vocals are clear! Aesthetics are timeless and classic. I've replaced my Audio Engine A2's with this, and it was a huge upgrade in every way.Volume knob on the front makes life easier to use than the A2's. Sound is clearer, and fuller than the A2's. Build quality is a lot more robust and premium than the A2's.

Best speakers for the price. End of story.
Best speakers for the range and top notch quality.Get the subwoofer though. Just WOW! Insanely great speakers for my desktop and they have great Bluetooth connectivity. Best money I have ever spent on my speaker setup.

Perfect for a desktop setup
Great pair of speakers, perfect for a desktop. When on sale these are definitely the best choice for a small desktop setup. A little bit on the pricy side, but the soundstage is pretty incredible from such a small speaker so it's worth it in the end, especially if you are limited on room. Great amount of bass even with out a sub I was genuinely surprised. However, connecting a sub does make them really come to life, but I wish I was able to turn the automatic crossover off and use an external unit to adjust it myself to really dial it in. They sounded best about a foot or more away from the wall, when up against the wall the mids get a bit veiled from the bass and the vocals lose the a bit of clarity. But once I pulled them away from the wall they really opened up and shined. Overall, it's a great pair of speakers for anyone with limited space.

Needs EQ to fix muffled vocals. Not "DSP Tuned reference quality"
Pros:- Compact design with decent bass (50–70 Hz) for the size- Built-in USB DAC ensures low-noise PC connectivity- Flat base and treble- Sounds acceptable—but only after applying EQ to correct vocal issuesCons:- Muffled Vocals: Voices sound as if underwater, with a noticeable midrange abnormality (confirmed using a UMIK-2 mic). Despite being marketed as “DSP tuned” and “reference quality,” the speakers require careful manual EQ to fix this flaw.- Limited Connectivity: EQ fixes work only via RCA or USB; Bluetooth (which is limited to SBC, no AptX) won’t apply EQ unless you use a phone app like SpotEQ31.- Harsh Treble: Sibilance makes strings sound scratchy unless corrected with treble roll-off in the EQ.- Channel Layout: The main speaker is always on the right, with no ability to swap.- Paper Cone Woofers: These may compromise both sound quality and longevity. Not acceptable at this price.EQ Adjustments:Preset 1 – Correcting Vocals & Midrange Defects:20 Hz: 0dB25 Hz: 0dB32 Hz: 0dB40 Hz: 0dB50 Hz: 0dB63 Hz: +0.5dB80 Hz: +1dB100 Hz: +0.5dB125 Hz: 0dB160 Hz: 0dB200 Hz: 0dB250 Hz: 0dB315 Hz: 0dB400 Hz: -1.7dB500 Hz: -2.5dB630 Hz: -1.8dB630 Hz: -0.9dB1 kHz: +1.4dB1.2 kHz: -1.4dB1.6 kHz: +1.1dB2 kHz: +2.6dB2.5 kHz: +2.6dB3.1 kHz: +2.2dB4 kHz: +3.5dB5 kHz: +1.5dB6.3 kHz: 0dB8 kHz: 0dB10 kHz: 0dB12 kHz: 0dB16 kHz: 0dB20 kHz: -2.5dBPreset 2 – Normal Vocals and Midrange, Enhanced Bass & Treble:20 Hz: 0dB25 Hz: 0dB32 Hz: +1dB40 Hz: +2dB50 Hz: +3dB63 Hz: +3.5dB80 Hz: +4.5dB100 Hz: +3.3dB125 Hz: +1.4dB160 Hz: +1.4dB200 Hz: +1.4dB250 Hz: +1.1dB315 Hz: 0dB400 Hz: -1.7dB500 Hz: -2.5dB630 Hz: -1.8dB630 Hz: -0.9dB1 kHz: +1.4dB1.2 kHz: -1.4dB1.6 kHz: +1.1dB2 kHz: +2.6dB2.5 kHz: +2.6dB3.1 kHz: +2.2dB4 kHz: +3.5dB5 kHz: +1.2dB6.3 kHz: +0.9dB8 kHz: +1.2dB10 kHz: +1.3dB12 kHz: +2.0dB6.3 kHz: -2dB16 kHz: +1dB20 kHz: -3dB20 kHz: -5dBUsing either preset significantly improves the sound by eliminating the muddled vocals. Preset 2 is better for music, preset 1 is better for audiobooks and youtube.Overall Verdict:While the Kanto ORA’s compact size and basic sound performance are appealing, its factory DSP tuning falls short—forcing you to manually EQ to fix muffled vocals and harsh treble. It is perplexing that Kanto did not use its DSP to calibrate the speakers properly. That's a huge missed opportunity. I am not sure what Kanto audio engineers were doing here. They could have used a basic UMIK-2 calibration mic to see the easily fixable flaws. I hope they can release a firmware update to fix the sound signature. At this price, bluetooth codecs like AptX (or Snapdragon Sound) and proper out-of-the-box EQ should be standard. If you have room on your desk, alternatives such as the JBL 305 MKII offer gold-standard performance, backed by superb audio engineering, without needing manual EQ. Consider the Kanto ORA only if compact speakers are a must and you’re willing to invest time in fine-tuning the sound with EQ software.
