I had the same problem as K. Landin who reported it on February 9; the hinge bar for the lid latches turns out to be very thin and one of the latches broke with surprisingly little force; I accidently bumped against it and was startled that it broke that readily. I've invested hours in modifying this box for a project and was frustrating for the box to break so easily. HOWEVER, the manufacturer wisely made this part an insert so it could be fixed easily as this photo shows both pieces after it was removed. If the customer service is as good as K. Landin says and they can ship me two new latches (if they break THIS easily I want a spare), I, too, would be happy to boost this back up to 5 stars. UPDATE: this vendor has indeed been very responsive and provided excellent customer support: I was mailed new hinges including spares and the hinges are very easy to change out. I was inclined to rate 4 stars, not 5, due to the clip hinge rods being thin and fragile, but I have plenty of replacements now and I promised them 5 for the effort so here it is. IF YOUR HINGES BREAK OFF - and they may - contact the vendor and they'll send new ones.

For anybody who wants to protect electrical components from severe weather or accidental splashes of water, I believe that this enclosure is a highly practical option that may be used. I conducted some research on a number of other possibilities before making the purchase, but in the end, I decided to go with this particular one since it met the requirements for being waterproof, it came with a fan and a thermostat, and it was described as having a robust mounting plate. Please find below a comprehensive account of my experience with the product and how it performed for me. At first sight, I was astonished by how substantial the materials felt when I got the enclosure. These materials were quite sturdy. In addition to having a comforting thickness, the ABS plastic featured a hinged lid that gave the impression of being well-constructed rather than fragile. A mounting plate that made it simple for me to connect my controllers and wire panels was included in the package along with all of the necessary accessories, such as the fan and the thermostat that was built in. I believe that the fan that is provided is a wonderful feature since it assists in maintaining enough ventilation on days when the weather is higher, so guaranteeing that the temperature inside does not increase to an excessive degree. Additionally, the thermostat provides an additional degree of confidence by permitting the fan to function just when it is required, therefore preventing the fan from making a continuous noise or draining energy.

I've used a couple of these boxes over the last year. They work well and protect the sensitive network hubs from the elements. Would have like to be able to purchase more mounts designed to work with the plastic backboard.

Box turned out great for what I needed. Used it to house my WiiM Amp for an outdoor speaker install. Time will tell how long the fans will last, I expect they will need to be replaced in the future.

I needed a vented weatherproof control box. This box was easy to use and performed well. The only thing in my mind that could be better would be increasing intake air.

Great box. Very durable and weatherproof, we have this mounted outside.

Bought it to hold a retevis repeater. I should have bought a bigger one to be honest but it does fit.
