It's the official book for the hsk and I'd recommend you stick to it! The Workbook is unessacary in my opinion but get both下 and 上

Good textbook but outdated CD technology
Useful textbook but does not have a QR code like one review stated. It comes with a CD but if you don’t have a CD drive there’s no way to get the audio. If anyone could help that would be great!!

No grammar audio
Grammar lessons aren't included in the Audio files. Not great.

Challenging
Bought with the workbook in advance of my studies so not in use yet but going by previous books in the series I imagine it will have the same quality of teaching materials which is not only educational but fun to do. I've used the previous books with the help of a tutor but, with self discipline, they can be used independently.

Sehr gute didaktische Organisation, gute CD und Audiobegleitung. Guter Analytischer Index. Ein aufgeräumtes und effizientes Buch. Eine detailliertere Beschreibung gebe ich für den zweiten Teil der dem Ersten wie ein Ei entspricht. 上 kann ohne Kenntniss oder Vorarbeit in 下 bearbeitet werden. Das jeweilige zugehörige Übungsbuch ist extrem nützlich und sollte gemeinsam zu jedem der Bände gekauft werden. Es lohnt sich absolut.
