Sprouts are super fragile and flimsy
This is a nice kit however I wish the selection of bonsai seeds were heartier seeds. My seeds sprouted but because of the type of tree they were they were very thin fragile sprouts. My Japanese Black Pine grew up so tall so fast that it couldn't support itself and flopped over. I don't have a green thumb so it would of been easier for me if the kit had heartier seeds. But it was a very lovely kit with everything you need.

Seeds almost expired
It’s too early to tell if anything will grow so I’m only giving 3 stars for now as the box I received has an expiration date of January 1, 2023. Not sure why you would send that out knowing the seeds are about to expire, but at least the price was good. I got this kit for $12. It comes with 4 different species of trees, and each packet comes with at least 15- 20 seeds. If anything does happen to grow I think this is definitely worth the money even at the regular price because you do get alot of seeds. It also comes with a spray “bottle”, some biodegradable pots, 4 soil pods, and an instruction manual. Everything you need to start growing your trees. My only issue is with the expiration date.

Very nice starter kit
I knew nothing about bonsai trees, but wanted to see if I could do it. I also thought the idea of raising one from a seed would be a fun challenge. I think the kit is well put together and provides everything you need to start seeds which look like they'll make great little bonsai trees. Some of the other reviews mention a few things that I'd like to comment on, as I'm going through the same process:- I have learned that you CAN just pick up seeds from local trees and grow them as bonsai. I didn't know that when I purchased the kit but I still think the supplied species look like they'll make good trees.- Some seeds don't germinate. This is perfectly normal. In this kit they provide an abundance of seeds, and the manual clearly says if germination doesn't occur on any of the provided seeds to contact them. It does take a while, but I had multiple seedlings from each species on my first try.- Mold can occur very easily when you're keeping something moist for an extended period of time. These pots are made for transplanting the plants and disposing of the starter pot. I've used this style with garden plants and herbs before and they work very well. You will have to find an appropriate pot once they are large enough.- For the 4 starter pots, 4 pods of "soil", 4 packs of seeds, and a simple spray bottle I felt this was worth the price paid. I'm sure you can get by cheaper, but it comes with everything you need, and a nice set of instructions to get started. The one downside I noticed:- To grow one from seed will take a _long_ time. So long that the instructions really don't get into the "bonsai" part of the process. I wish they at least gave time-frames and a simple set of instructions online for how to do that part. You can search online for instructions, but I wish I'd been better informed. All in all I'm not unhappy, and think it will be a fun process. I'm considering buying some Japanese Maple seeds to see how that turns out. If you're looking to get into the bonsai part, you may wish to start with an established small bonsai and work with that. I am looking forward to that journey.

Easy to use
It's easy to use and it comes with everything you need. I just got it so it's too early for me to see the results

fair play
from what was depicted on the products images, i expected the wisteria trees seeds, i didn’t receive that, i received trees that are already common in my area, obviously they did this on purpose to reel people in to buying their product, but this mistake was my own fault for not reading into the product.

Expiration date
Looks like a nice kit. I bought one for a Xmas gift in December. I did not realize plant kits had an expiration date...which in this case was the end of December :0

Bonsai Baby Yeah - It's On
I bought this kit on June 24, 2016 and didn't get around to planting the seeds untilSuper Bowl Sunday on February 5, 2017. Ten days later (Feb 15) I noticed that severalof the Bristle Cone Pine had sprouted and I am very excited about this and I decided tostart writing my review for this product. The kit came with 4 seed packs:Jacaranda Mimosifolia [Fern Tree]Pinus Aristata [Rocky Mountain Bristlecone Pine Tree]Delonix Regia [Royal Poinciana or "Flame Tree"]Picea Mariana [Black Spruce Pine Tree]Each pack of seeds had plenty (at least 6 or more) which should get you at least 1 or 2 plantsof all four varieties, maybe more, depending on the germination rate & process. The kit also included 4 large peat pellet disks which I did not use, but I'm sure they wouldbe just fine if you don't have anything better available. I mix my own soil using 3 parts Foxfarmpotting mix, 1 part humus, 1 part compost, 1 part sand, and 1 or 2 parts seed starting soil. Thekit also included 4 biodegradable growing pots, 4 plant markers and an instruction manual. I didn'tuse the pots because I have something better available, but if you don't have anything better inmind then I feel sure those will be completely adequate.I filled 5 inch ceramic pots with my soil mix, sowed the seeds about 1/4 to 3/8 inch deep, thenwatered them heavily with a spray bottle until the soil was completely drenched. I put the potson the floor in the living room below the window. I waited for the soil to go from drenched towet to moist or damp before spraying more water on them. I will continue to keep the other threepots very damp until they germinate, but now that the Bristle cone has sprouted I might let it dryone more day before spraying it again.I live in Nashville Tennessee which is zone 7 and currently it is getting cold outside at night, but in the house it probably varies between 68 and 72 Fahrenheit. For me, this kit is wonderful and lives up to my expectations ... so far. I want to give it afull 5 star rating because what you get for the money you spend is a very good deal.I uploaded a pic from my phone so you can hopefully see the pine sprouts.I will keep you updated on my progress when time allows and if I remember to do so. In the meantime ... happy bonsai ... and I hope my review is useful for you.

much rewarding experience
To take a sampling and prune it to a bonsai is one thing whereas to nurture from a seedling is creating and nurturing a baby. This product provides with all the tools to create the saplings and here are my notes:1. The product is well worth it for the plant species provided2. The instructions are only till the germination and not about bonsai at all. Once the plants germinate, you are on your own and have to rely on other sources.3. The soil disks are great compact forms but break very easily and once they do, becomes very difficult. I advise to not use a big bowl but a smaller bowl and not too much water for them to expand. In the art of bonsai, patience is a virtue and they expect from the moment you make the soil ready.4. Once the seeds are soaked for 24hrs, the seeds promptly germinated for me. (I only did three pots as I lost one soil disk)5. to prevent mould:a) place the pots where air gets circulatedb) do not let stagnant water anywhere. I did put the pots on a "bounty" tissue and within 2 days, I could see signs of mould. I immediately removed the tissues and all was well since. I did spray some puffs of diatomaceous earth on the outsides of the potsc) do not over water the seeds. they say keep the soil moist but not saturated. The picture was taken 2 weeks after planting the seeds. Surprisingly fast growth. The P. aristata seems to be thriving in Canadian weather; also surprising considering it is a gymnosperm and evolutionarily backward.

I was pretty skeptical about this kit
I was pretty skeptical about this kit, mostly because of the price and trees can be tough to start from seed inside. To my surprise they've all germinated. I soaked the seeds, as recommended, and planted six per little pot. All 6 picea mariana seeds have sprouted, 2 pinus aristata, 1 delonix regia, and 3 jacaranda. I only planted them on March 27, so I wouldn't be surprised if even more of them popped up in the next few weeks.A couple of things that I think may have helped (and I've learned from starting plenty of seeds in the past): I covered the pots with saran wrap, with holes, to make sure it they didn't dry out. I also have some grow lights for other plants, so I put the pots beside those. Light isn't particularly important, I think, but they definitely need to be in a warm spots

Outstanding. A
I got this kit for my first bonsai experience, the instructions were very straight forward and gave an overview for potting of each seed. As a side not however, please do your share of research for potting for each seed type if you are a noob like me.Update after a month of potting: 2 of 4 seed types provided have germinated well and are growing well. Did some repotting, as molds started to develop (due to over watering).Customer service: I happened to contact the natures blossom customer service, as 2 of 4 seeds never sprouted. To my surprise, they only did not replaced them, but dispatched a new kit. Thank you again for this!

I definitely do not recommend using the provided pots if you buy this
I definitely do not recommend using the provided pots if you buy this. They will mold within the first week and the mold will grown and expand quickly. The process of germinating the seeds is pretty long but this is quite a good kit for anyone just starting out bonsai trees like myself. Instructions are clear and very easy to follow. I do suggest only using a few seeds at first and to keep the rest for another plant pot as they do provide 5 to 10 seeds per pack

Disappointing quality, low growth, hoped for better
I was extremely disappointed in this kit. I read the instructions to a tee - not to mention they even said they can’t guarantee the seeds will even germinate let alone they take 7 years to grow people. 1-2 of 3 of the seed packets grew , barely, and didn’t last much longer... I followed everything as I said , you don’t water every day you water and wait for it to be dry for day and then water good sunlight and indoor growth NOT by a window. This was so disappointing and such a waste of money, should just go out and spend 30$ on a bonsai. SEVEN YEARS. This is a pointless product for anyone who isn’t established somewhere and has a frkn green house apparently, there was so little growth idk what is expected of these plants but I guarantee no one else who has purchased has a plant that is alive anymore. Go ahead and ask for full grown pictures from a customer because I’d love to see one too!
