Payback Is A Mutha Mass Market Paperback – April 1, 2009

To sum up "Payback is a Mutha", its about two best friends named Shan and Brianna. They're doing what they have to do to survive in "the hood", Shan works while Brianna gold digs. Brianna eventually get caught up so she sets up Shan's brother, who's a big time drug dealer, for a couple of bucks. Shan found out seeked revenge on her.While all of this is happening, Shan starts dating a guy who is married, his wife secretly pregnant by Brianna's beau who also killed Shan's brother. I've already revealed too much information about the book but it's a very good read and I strongly recommend you read this book. It would remind you of R.Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" play because all of the characters are somehow connected in the end.

It was hard for me to give this book 3 stars because i really wanted to give it 2. I thought the ending was good & everybody got what they deserved so i gave it 3. Other than that the book was all over the place. Way too many characters. I spent the first 12 or 13 chapters trying to figure out who was connected to who. Some of the connections were interesting and made sense, but most of it was far stretched. Even though i said the ending was good some of it was over the top. It seems that the author was trying to over compensate for her lack of real storytelling by having so much sex and ridiculously extreme moments at the end.

This was the 1st book I ever read by author Wahida Clark and I was like WOW..I'm talking about mouth open ready for what's next throughout the entire book. I was like OH MY GOD..this Author right here is one of my new favorites. I could NOT PUT THIS BOOK down. I even read it a second time to go on the thrill ride the book sent me on AGAIN. Then when I found out there was going to be a "Payback ain't enough" which is a sequel I was like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...this book was very sexy, with a spicy hoodrich type persona all the characters gave you something different and interesting to look forward to and once you read this one you will most definetly get the sequel. Now that's a 5 star BOOK :-)

It took me 3 days to read.I loved it.You bring the heat girl.I am so glad that you are free.Whatever you put out I will read.Those sistas were off the chain. especially B that girl was wild.I was sad at what happened to her thro.But u live by the streets you pay the consequencesIt's sad I liked her she was scanderlous but she hooked her girl up at the end.I love your workThe book was great.Peace outChillin in New York

This book by Wahida Clark was on fire! I could not put it down! Brianna and Shan both had a fair share of drama in their lives. Brianna was real scandolous and was always willing to set someone else up for that mighty dollar. Shan was more laid back but ends up getting involved in some stuff that makes her a little shady too! Payback is a mutha and Brianna will learn if you play with fire you wil get burned! This book is hot! It's got enough drama, sex, and twists and turns to keep you up late at night reading!! I look forward to her next novel..it's a shame that other author stole her former title b/c that other book was garbage!

I LOVE Whahida, and how she tells a story, she makes u feel like your watching a movie!Always a page Turner you can't put down...cant wait for the next part!

If you enjoy Wahida Clark then you will love this book!! Great concept and the book keeps moving; very hard to put down and you will not want to. There were so many unexpected twists and turns that I was at a lost or words. The book arrived in great condition and on time; I would definitely order from this seller again.

Ms. Clark is an excellent writer. I started with this book and have purchased all other books by her. Her characters come off the pages and into life. Pure piece of literary genuis. My favorite authors are E Lynn Harris and J California Cooper, I would classify Ms. Clark's works right up there with them.This book is so raw and told from a point that the reader can visualize what is transpiring. This book will steer up all kinds of emotions while you anticipate what happens next. A definite must read as it will have you craving more.

this book wasnt as good as i thought it would be, was my first wahida clarke book, enjoyed the read but could never get in to it. too ghetto and the payback wasnt exciting at all, but it all made sense.
