This is fabulous! I was hesitant about it because I knew I would for sure need machine washable, but now that I have had to wash it three times, it holds up great with NO shedding. There was a tiny bit of fuzz in the washer, but nothing significant. I put it on LOW in the dryer for about 7 minutes and then lay if flat in the sun. It dries in about an hour. I would recommend maybe a dryer sheet in the dryer to make it a little softer and no static, but DO NOT add fabric softener. It makes is very limp, and loses its fluff. I have ZERO regrets on this purchase.UPDATE: Two years later, the backing has crumbled into dust. I had to replace it, but can’t complain with the use I got out of it.

This little rug is awesome! It lives in front of my bed - or on my side if you will - and it is wonderful. Here's why: Very, very soft. Does not shed. Does not attract dirt (like I go barefoot a lot and was worried it would get dingy looking). I use it for my simple yoga exercises and meditation. It is the first thing my feet touch in the morning, and it feel luxurious! I'm very, very happy to have made this purchase. I have not yet washed it, but will use the gentle handwash cycle and sundry it, then gently brush it. Why? I really love this little peace of engineered luxury - no guilt. Well done, manufacturers!

this rug is a fantastic deal! I have a shabby chic home style and I also have four dogs. I have spot cleaned it with water only many many times and yesterday I washed it in the washer, cold and no detergent. It says not to dry it in the dryer but I did for five minutes and then took it out and laid it flat to dry. It looks and feels like new. I also vacuum it every week with a normal vacuum extension piece with a brush on the end.

I live where it's cold in the winter, and the floor is really cold in winter. Given the three categories that I could rate this rug, I could only truly rate it for softness. It feels wonderful on my bare feet! It definitely helps keep some of the chill off. As far as easy to clean, We vacuumed it once with the vacuum hose and it was fine. So, I only gave it four stars for easy to clean, because we haven't washed it in the washing machine or spot-cleaned it yet. I really don't know about stain resistance, because hey, it's a black rug. If I have spilled coffee on it a little that I do not know of, it's camouflaged! I did want a small rug, and it is just right! Overall, I am very pleased with this rug. It does kind of look like the shape of a real bear rug. I recommend it.

These are fantastic. I was a little worried what the quality would be like as I wanted to add expensive looking accents to a room. These really did fit all my expectations and beyond. We are a little clumsy in our household so it was important to have a non skid backing. These have good rubber backings that don't slip out if you happen to walk on them (like others in the market). I would say they are safe to use. The material is soft and lovely in color. I bought two and might buy more as my cousin wants them after seeing them.

My wife and I bought this for our nursery. We wanted something of high quality but also something that was socially conscious from an animal welfare perspective. We absolutely love this in our nursery. Soft texture and durable. Our dog loves to lay on it and guard the crib.

I wanted a "sheep skin" rug for my doggos. However, I did not want a product that another animal suffered and died for. I looked at dozens of fake sheepskin rugs but all of them had a suede backing. That means a cow or other animal suffered to make the product. Then I found this perfect product!When it arrived, it looked a bit flat and obviously fake. However, after my sweet old man dog, Buster, threw up on the rug, I was forced to wash it. I wasn't sure it would wash very well. However, after the wash I threw it into the dryer on low for about 15 minutes and then hung it to dry completely. After it dried, it was fluffy and softer and now it is hard to tell that it is fake. Good job, Buster!I ended up buying another one because we love it so much. With four dogs I will have to buy more because they argue over who gets to lay on the rugs. Love love love this product!!

This rug was for next to my bed. I got the white color thinking it was machine washable and I could wash it often enough. I picks up so much filth, I can not even stress how difficult it is to get any bit of dirt, debris or hair out of it. Washing it actually makes the filth sink in deeper! And then the rug becomes like a filthy dog's fur when you touch it. I finally had to throw it away, it was just too disgusting. It also became dingier over time, and with many washes, it turned grey on the edges. Just a crappy item worth maybe $1.

Overall, I wanted an affordable yet fairly decent substitute for sheepskin that could also be readily washed. I haven't done the latter yet, but the rug is soft, with sufficiently long hair and I enjoy the deep shade of black. It could be a bit more dense, but overall I'm pleased I bought this and a single 'hide' too.
