I like the Shark BBQ grill tong for a number of reasons.First - operation. I can accurately apply as much or as little pressure to grip whatever I'm grilling. This is what I like most about this tool - I can feel exactly what I'm doing since there is no tension which I'm working against.Second - overall design. The scissor like shape feels familiar and comfortable in my hand - plus I won't pinch or burn my hand using this - and most importantly probably is that it sits around my fingers and cannot slip from my hand. On the business end the slight inward angle of the jaw tip provides more than adequate bite. (It opens to over 5 inches, though practical operation probably up to 5 inches)It is sturdy but lightweight - I can flip and pick up anything on the grill with this thing.

I was looking for some heavy duty tongs for my grill since the one's I have tend to drop the meat and/or twist when applying too much pressure. I was looking for something different and these have worked out perfectly without any issues. I've used them on different type of meats and they haven't failed me at all. The grip is great for large hands and it takes minimal effort to grasp meats (even 3 lbs of tri tip), 1 1/2 cut steaks, chicken, hot dogs, and burgers. I made the right purchase.

My old BBQ tongs were always one piece of metal bent in a U shape. I had a whole collection of them. None ever worked very well. If you were not careful the tip would slide around, and your steak would end up on the ground. Or they were too short and I would burn my hand while trying to flip sausages. I have tried all kinds and finally found these. I grill two or three times a week. I love these tongs and can recommend them to any BBQ enthusiast. Easy to use on sausages or steak. Love them.

Even though this product is designed for the BBQ and picking up burgers & such, we are planning on using it for small detail tuning of the partially burnt wood in the fireplace while the fireplace is active and hot coals are abundant. The tools that are designed for the fireplace (that we have)are too big and cannot pick up smaller pieces of partially burnt wood.

Great set of grill tongs - strong, sturdy and allows precise grip of steak.
