This is the best surface I have found for pastel. I was reluctant to use sanded paper; I was using Canson for my pastels but the consistent and elegant surface of this sanded paper has changed my mind. Yes, it's a little pricey but worth every penny

My favorite paper for pastels. It’s sturdy, holds the chalk really well, and come in a great size for landscapes. Love it.

Nice paper for the most part, but there seem to be several thin vertical lines on each sheet that don’t accept the pastel easily. I end up having to use a stomp, or you get a thin light line through your artwork. Accepts a lot of pastel layers, even at 800 grit.
