A bit of a learning curve......
I like the fast boot and this very capable laptop. It is tilted towards using Google apps like Docs, Mail, Sheets etc. Microsoft office is only supported via logging on to your Microsoft account in the browser. Life can become a bit complicated after that because Microsoft and Google are not good mates!Nevertheless, if you turn your back on the old ways, roll up your sleeves and do everything the Google way, then you will have a very fast and fully functioning laptop, that's a joy to use.The battery life is good, a bright clear screen with decent sound quality too.Connecting to my home router was a breeze as was connecting to my couple of printers. If you like your android phone then you'll soon find your way around but it might be best to bid Microsoft a fond adieu.

First Chromebook
Most of our business involves working on a variety of extranet sites plus some Word and Excel tasks. The current Windows laptop takes too long to boot up and generally get going. However we really didn't want to spend more than necessary so thought give a Chromebook a try. This Acer is a very well-made computer with a good sized display, responsive backlit keyboard and decent specs (i5 processor, memory etc) which together provide excellent value for money. Setup was a breeze especially if you already have Android and a Google id in place. Connection with a printer over wifi was seemless. It boots up in a jiffy and can get on to the web and on with tasks pretty much instantly. But it's different from Windows and does take a little time and effort to learn how to do things. It's worth knowing that:- All MS Office is through 365 online and no offline MS apps exist for Chrome as they do for Android. Outlook on 365 currently only supports @outlook.com email addresses. You can download from Google Play email apps such as BlueMail for Imap/pop3 accounts or use GMail for this. If you use Google docs and Drive etc then no worries there as these do work offline. However, MS Office 365 works very well if you have secure wifi.- Trackpad doesn't have right click and scrolling is a two fingered affair. You need to use Ctrl or similar for right click. I added a wifi mouse and it helps eg scrolling or selecting text for instance.- Not all Android apps work or are available on Chrome. If you accept it isn't a Windows laptop with all its functionality and are prepared to do a little relearning then there is alot to recommend this Chromebook for in terms of quality, value for money and particularly speed.

So fast
I had this as a 70th birthday present from my wife. I was so tired of our 2016 windows laptop as it always needed attention. This Chromebook plus literally boots in 10 seconds! It is a bit different to use but I managed to work it out over a few days.I have a pixel 8 pro mobile and I have linked the Chromebook to it. This has proven to be very useful as messages pop up on the Chromebook and I can reply. Also quite a few of my Android apps can be downloaded onto the Chromebook and work well. It's well made and apparently has a military spec. My daughter bought me a wireless mouse and carry case for it.The screen is much better than the old laptop and the sound from the built-in speakers is surprisingly good.

Value
I have used Mac books are various type over the last 15 yuears or so. I do have a Windows 11 laptop and my wife uses 4 or 5 Chromebooks. My main reason for laptops these days is for surving the net. Usually Chromebooks have 4g of ram and very little hard drives. This has an i3 procwaaor and 250gig hard drive. As Chrome is a very light operating sysetm this is a fast smooth laptop. I would recommend this computer only if you are aware of the very slight limitations of a Chromebook. I hope this helps someone...
