Bico Suntour spring seat post, SP12-NCX, diameter 27.2 mm, black

I had tried direct spring ( up down ) seat posts for a few years on my ebike and found them helpful but I got to try the Suntour Sp 12 on a friends bike and I really liked it , so I bought one. Really happy with it . Whilst they say that there is some adjustment to the tension of the spring it really only seem to work to tighten it a little as it comes at a factory adjusted tension and no real adjustment to loosen it is practical as it would bring the adjuster below the safety 1 cm limit. The standard spring seems ideal if you are in the 70-90 kg weight but , I’m my opinion, if you are in the lower weight 70-75 kg I would also order the softer spring ( another €10 ) designed for 65 kg ) as this slightly adjusted up might be a perfect choice . It’s a small extra option but could give you the option and perfect to have if you lend your bike to somebody lighter. 5 mins to swap. IMPORTANT. This suspension device does add about 8cms/ 3 ins to the overall seat height so it would be a important to raise your current seat post up by 8cms and check that you can still get on and off the bike safety. Combined with my Cloud 9 Cruiser the Suntour really gives you a soft cycle ride in pothole roads .

I have a painful back. When I used this for the first time (on a mountain bike) I was pleasantly surprised by how much suspension it provides. It appears to be at lease as good as the much more expensive one I have on my other mountain bike.

I highly recommend this seatpost!Immediately I noticed how comfortable the pivoting action absorbed the rough roads! I came back from the first test ride in complete comfort. I’m looking forward to riding today!

Fitted to my Rad Runner with a Velo Plush saddle. So far they work well together. Adds comfort when the going gets a bit rough.

I am returning back to mtb in my mid 40s and wanted something to take the sting out of the local trails I cycle along. This is amazing and I wish I had bought one sooner. I can remain seated and pedal better over the rougher terrain. It absorbs the hits upto the point your chain rattles on the frame but if you want better suspension buy a full suspension bike! I read the reviews agaisnt the Crane Creek thudbuster and decided that for the money and the pre tension option the Suntour was the one for me. Very happy with my purchase

Absolutely amazing. Really takes the sting out of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath. Combined with suspension forks on my electrified hybrid it feels almost smooth.Stock spring (65-95kg) may be a little firm for lighter riders, but different ones are available from a range of sellers.
