Prospectors Beard Oil

Great stuff. Smells good and a little goes a long ways. I’m on my second bottle and will continue to use for my beard.

I have tried literally hundreds of beard oil, this one is in my rotation of only one other brand. I have the barbershop and verbena lime, both scents are great and not overwhelming.

Great product. While it is a true beard oil, it does not leave your beard feeling oily or greasy like some other oils and balms out there. The only reason for the 4 (not 5) star rating is because of the bottle cap and packaging. The cap does not make a tight fit (which is true for all bottles of this product that I've ever had), so if it tips over in your gym bag or drawer, it will leak. Other than that, I have no complaints.

I bought this beard oil because I’m a huge fan of Prospectors’ pomade. I was hoping the beard oil would live up to the hype of their pomade. Sadly it did not. The beard oil is a lot more watery than many of the beard oils I tried. As the day wore on, I felt that I had to reapply it because I noticed my beard getting really dry and itchy. I was expecting the beard oil to have a scent similar to the pomade scent. However, it smelled like a cheap cologne, similar to a urine cake in a urine stall. Not very appealing in my opinion. I had my wife smell it and she wasn’t a big fan of it as well. Also, the scent is way too overpowering in my opinion, so much so, I noticed my allergies kicking up because the scent is just too pervasive. The ingredients were lackluster, whereas many beard oils have several essential oils in their formula, this one just has argan oil and cannabis sativa seed oil. Quite, honestly, I don’t see how these ingredients would benefit your beard but apparently Prospectors think so. However, I didn’t have any bad side effects like itchy skin or rashes. The aesthetics of the bottle is like their pomade beautiful and appealing. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives stop for the beard oil. Bottom line: there’s better beard oils out there for the money, one can disagree with me and that’s fine but that’s my assessment. I’ll update my review if experience change over time.
