This is a fine hose, much better than anything available at the big box home stores. However, it required way too much clearance behind the washer, 4-3/4", that's a lot! Although not planned, I ended up using my existing drain hose (with a nice 90° angle - which requires the minimal distance from the wall) and using this one to extend it. It worked remarkably well! The output from my old hose fit like a glove into the grooves of the new hose. It inserted into it about 3" too. No leaks so far, and I've been closely monitoring it. I would recommend it to anyone... with the caveat that if you're going to use ONLY this hose, keep in mind that you'll likely have to pull out your washing machine a few inches from where it is to accommodate the large, non-90° connector. I get it though, in order to accommodate many different outlets, they really can't have an elbow. Also, I highly recommend that you NOT use the provided clamp - just toss it immediately. Either reuse the one you have in place, and if you don't, buy 1 of the ones that you need a pair of pliers to squeeze open - they're way more effective. Otherwise, you're asking for trouble as it will likely leak! Again, I would definitely recommend this to anyone. It's flexible and durable, what else could you ask for? Oh, wait, a 90° elbow :-)

Heavy duty and long lasting

Do not use the provided clamp, it is imperfect and does not form a complete seal. Your buying the hose and the clamp is a bonus gift so don't one star it because the advertisement is pretty much a 10 foot hose which works very very well. In my provided video you will see what kind of clamp works. Also cut the hose carefully it fits on inch and a half to one inch in diameter but you need to cut it carefully with patience leaving a lip so the clamp I am showing doesn't slip off. Make sure the hose does not pop off when moving the washer. Test your work before moving the washer. This is how you will know it works.

This was exactly as described. I read through the reviews before ordering and saw one that mentioned not using the clamping with it. I disagree at least for how it fit to my Maytag. I found that, after cutting the end to fit, I needed to place the clamp as close as I could to the washing machine. The clamp needed to be past the small lip on the washing machine hose. This allowed me to tighten the clamp enough to make sure there would be no possibility of leakage. The flexibility of the drain hose hose allowed this.

this drain hose is.... "JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED"... to fill my need for a long drain hose for my brand new samsung washing machine. it is a great hook up.... and also was easy to cut a little off to suit my need for it to be placed in the exact right location. i'd recommend this to "the world".... as i went thru several others before this one.. and this one...'WAS IT".!! thanks for a great product.

The hose feels like great quality, I didn't measure my hose before buying it like an idiot, but thankfully it fit great when I slid the existing hose into the extension. The hose connection is at the down slope so I didn't do anything special for connecting the two hoses;the connection is nice and snug and I was able to force it in. I did trim it down to the 1" size before connecting and then just trimmed the exit to the desired length.

I bought this hose fora used washer I purchased. The only thing I did not like was after I cut the hose to fit it was not as snug as I thought it would fit, but after putting on the clamp so far it's no leaks.

Ordered the 6ft one, didn’t realize the connecting part (where you suppose to trim) and the curve end are included in the 6ft. So it’s actually just over 4ft for you to use.
