Brilliant for lighter items, heavier items cause laptop hinge issues
This thing is amazing. A couple of cautionary notes for potential buyers:1) the weight of the magnet isn't enough to alter your laptops hinge mechanism, however adding anything to the magnet can overpower the hinge strength and caution the laptop to open to max setting. Heavier phones paired with lighter laptop hinges may be an issue2) the adhesive is fantastically strong (I use mine on a canvas-backed laptop case), however at extreme ends of the temp spectrum the adhesive can fail. Summer 2026 with near international heatwaves reported, mine experienced failure, where the heat was sufficient enough to cause the adhesive to fail.It is noteworthy that I stored the magnetic strip in a safe place, adhesive strip up, and once temps dropped back down to reasonable, surprisingly the magnet reapplied without issue and has continued to work like new since.
