Excellent quality at a fair price
I'd just had all my kitchen knives professionally sharpened and needed a steel to keep them honed.I chose this one for two reasons: first, it's made by Victorinox, a brand I trust (I have 3 of their knives) and secondly it's a good length. Not too long, but long enough for my largest, 10", knife.Well made, substantial without being too heavy, and it hasn't got a pointed tip which means you can use it held vertically on a board without it damaging the board.

Excellent steel
I’ve used Victorinox knives for years so when my trust steel wore out I didn’t hesitate to buy this ..and it doesn’t disappoint .. Hones my knives perfectly and although I prefer the oval shaped steels this it well worth the money

Good quality, affordable honing rod from a reputable brand
I have recently invested in some high quality knives, so with that comes learning how to sharpen them with a whetstone and honing rod. I chose this Victorinox honing rod as it's a reputable Swiss brand. The honing rod came well packaged, has a good weight to it and feels high quality. It has done the job of maintaining my knive blades so far. Honing rods are *not* for sharpening, as some people think. They are for maintaining the straightness of the blade and ever so slightly taking a bit of the blade off to keep it sharp, but you can't use it on its own to sharpen a blade. It'd be like trying to use very fine grit sandpaper to sand down a piece of wood, you'd be there forever. I use the honing rod every time or every few times I cook and it seems to keep my blades in good condition. The handle has a hook for hanging off something which is also handy, but I keep it in a drawer as I don't like utensils out where they can get dirty or greasy quickly from cooking.

Perfect
It works exactly as expected. It is the perfect length and I can't believe I went all these years without one.I spend 10 seconds honing my knife before use and they now stay sharp for months.

Lightweight and short
Not a bad price if you use a steel infrequently. Does the job, just but soon in will smooth and rusty.
