These retro print wax-coated bags are fun: they are a reusable solution for meals or snacks eaten on the run. I find them less usable than the beeswax wraps (with no sewn seams) that I’ve used for about five years, since you wrap them into whatever size suits and use the heat of your hands to ‘seal.’They’re (Imho) not the best solution for reusable general food storage (meaning in general, like in your kitchen, refrigerated or otherwise, someplace where glass or food grade silicone offers a better solution). The beeswax can transfer and has a distinctive texture that can be off putting, especially when you just start using them.These bags, in particular the set of the three smallest ones (which have a light blue background, if it isn’t clear from pictures), are hard to clean out because they are smaller than my hand. A flat wrap, you just open and rinse off with cool water. It puts a lot of stress on the wax and seams to reverse them for thorough cleaning, so I wouldn’t recommend them for melty, squishy, or non-solid snacks. The larger bags are simpler to see cleaned.But to bring mixed nuts and tangerines on a hike? Wrap up some empanadas for lunch? A few biscotti for afternoon tea? These work well and bring a smile.

When I first heard of these a few years back, I wanted to try them out but found them hard to find. I love the idea of not wasting plastic film or foil and that these can be washed off and re-used....and eventually recycled.
