The number is easily visible in the dark and in daylight and the large solar panel charges the batteries sufficiently to last all night (15 hrs) even though it is on a north facing wall.

Battery seems to last well in these so even in the depths of winter when other solar lights have long given up this light remains visible.I purchased some vinyl lettering of our house name to carefully put on the front of the light and sealed it with some clear lacquer. I now have two of these and a few couriers have commented how useful it was to have the house name illuminated.Would recommend, particularly if people struggle to find your house in the dark.
