Just outstanding
Ok, so firstly i would describe my self as a bit of an audio snob, i have never really bought high end equipment but can tell when something does not sound right, so i thought!I purchased some HD600 Headphones (300ohm) and tried them on my phone (Mate 9) and the volume was low and sound weak. So that's when i went searching for a reasonably priced amp and stumbled across this. The SMSL M6 paired with HD600 headphones showed me parts of music i had not heard before, it was like listening to music all over again. Absolutely superb!I thought i would try a test on this device also, so i did a A/B test against my phone run into a PA system, just to see if there was any difference in the DAC side of things. WOW! Music compared to my mobile just came alive and i was not expecting the bass to change the way it did. From my phones songs had flabby bass (i thought this was caused by my amp) but from the SMSL M6, the bass seemed like it was under control, everything note perfect and bass super smooth. It was like listening to different speakers and i thought my PA kit was just very low end, but by improving the source, it now sounds smooth and clear.I have the SMSL set to 24bit/192khz in windows, and have tried many source files, from high end Flac (400mb a song) all the way down to MP3 at 192khz. As much as people say there is a difference in quality, the gains are so small, its not really worth taking much notice off. Using spotify premium (320kbps) i found my most played songs sounded muddy....so i found the Flac equivalent to have the same muddy sound. What i learnt is that the file quality is nothing compared to how the song was recorded. Songs that have time put into the mastering/recording sound amazing, you will listen for hours but songs that have bad mastering, or maybe mastered for in-ear head phones sound terrible, and a nice setup will show this up, and i have never noticed this before until buying the equipment above. There are many different DAC's out there, all different prices but this to me sounds incredible if you like a natural as recorded sound.

Good
It drives my DT880 (250) very well. The only thing I don't like about this product is the button. There is only one button for everything and it's very tricky to switch it off.

SMSL M6 top price/sound/quality device
Really good device for the price. Compared to my old Creative XFi HD it produces really clear and more pure sound. It is perfect for lossless file formats like .flac. And you need some good headphones, my ATH-M40X are good but with this device I started to wonder if there will be better sound from more advanced headphones. So if you have some high quality songs or better albums and dont want to spend 300 bucks only for AMP/DAC combo buy this and you will still have enough money for good headphones. I definitely recommend as a BEST price/sound/quality device.P.s.: My old Creative is used only for games today. :)

One of The Best AMP/DAC Combo!! Worth the Price!!
This is the second SMSL product I have used to power my Sennheieser HD 660s. Now let me tell you, if you are after a desktop amp/dac combo then get this. Don't even bother to think twice. This sounds fantastic!! This is also quite powerful and drives HD660s with plenty power left. I can't go beyond 30 on the volume (out of 60). The clarity, the bass and mids are superb. Like the build quality and size. Blend nicely with my iMac as I got it in silver. However, if I have something to moan about, it's the little button thing to control volume and other function. I really wish they put a proper volume knob and buttons for input selections but I can ignore this for the sound quality it offers.Brilliant Purchase!!
