Quicken Classic Deluxe - INACTIVE

I've been using Quicken since 1992, first on DOS (!), then Windows and finally since 2018 on the Mac. Yes the Mac product has fewer features than Windows but it's also easier to use and understand and for me does everything I need it to. They update the product every month or so to add features and fix bugs. The subscription seems like a pain but in all honesty I upgraded every 2-3 years anyway to keep the bank downloads active so I was already paying for it, it just wasn't called a subscription.

I've used Quicken Software since 1996 for my small business and family records. It makes tax time especially since I use Turbo Tax one heck of a lot faster and easier - also I don't have to categorize all of our finances and deal with paper receipts. I buy it every year- ain't cheap - but worth the money!! It's also nice nice to have one program that that I can call on to track a purchase from the seller to to our finances. I recommend this product!!

Still the best money management software out there. Thankfully Amazon has it at a good price, saving us a few bucks over other retailers each year. Unfortunately, have to take one star off because I HATE subscription software. But there's no other software that meets our needs, so we give in on Quicken.

be sure to check Autorenew. Otherwise they will close your account if you fail to renew manually. You then will have to buy another copy from Amazon to reopen your account.

I have used Quicken for over 30 years. It used to be great, but the program has steadily gotten worse over time, despite the annual required subscription and price increases. I would love to switch to something else, but can't find any substitute. The program frequently crashes or freezes for long periods and is full of glitches. Support is useless in fixing problems. I have accounts which show balances in the account summary bar, but show no data when opened for detail. I have had repeated problems with downloading transactions from financial accounts where swaths of data is either missing or duplicated. The program will suddenly start showing crazy erroneous account balances and you have to shut it down and restart. For weeks it showed I had a negative net worth or 433 quadrillion dollars; it took untold hours to figure out it had corrupted values for a money market fund and then find a work-around to fix the issue without editing hundreds of transactions. I don't have problems with any other software, so it's not my PC. I used to enthusiastically recommend Quicken to family and friends, but now discourage everyone from even considering it. Find another way to manage your finances - Quicken is horrible. Don't get sucked in!

Easy to install great features to track finans

This is only good for one year and each year it keeps getting more expensive. I've been using Quicken since the '80's and it'd be nice to go back to purchasing this software outright, upgrading when I want to instead of this "subscription" model. Also switched from Windows to Mac version and they are definitely not the same. The Mac version is seriously lacking in features, mainly in retirement planning, which should be one of its main features.

I've been using Quicken to track my finances for years...actually more like two decades! I don't like that what I used to buy, I now just "rent" (annual subscription) but I gotta do it...at least I can usually find it on Amazon for less than Quicken/Intuit site.
