Was surprised how well these worked. I'm kind of clumsy and my cat's persnickety so I had real doubts about whether these would work to get out rather massive mat of fur on her back. I had tired other scissors that weren'tstrong enough to make a dent. However, while these don't look that strong they really do work and totally safely. It didn't seem to hurt her in any way, but since she only was still for short periods in letting me do it, I did it very gradually a bit a day, but after about 10 days it was totally gone. She's a very furry Maine coon looking cat and her under hair and top hair just seemed to have gotten totally matted on much of her back. The best part was I never felt nervous or that I was in any way endangering her as I might with other scissors, and she didn't seem to feel anything. If I gave her treats and she was focussed on that , she didn't even seem to notice I was cutting. If she were overall a calmer cat I probably could have done it all in much shorter time. I do recommend these.

These cut pretty well now, but there is a catch in the blade and takes some effort to fully cut through pets hair to close the blade entirely. Love the rounded tip that was my reason to buy plus the cost. The rounded blade is new to me and kind of liking it.

I’d rate these scissors 10 stars if I could. My ragdoll’s hair mats in a second and these scissors have saved a visit to the groomer! An unqualified thumbs up!

These are just what I need. Work perfectly.

I only used the longer pair on a cat's matted fur, and they cut really well. Just make sure to get far enough from cats skin or you risk the mat causing an open wound when it's cut off. That happened on a very small mat I was trimming, before a grooming appt., so be aware.

So much better than previous scissor brand used. Was able to cut through several matts on my long haired princess.
