Spear & Jackson - Spray and Leave Concentrated Mould, Algae and Lichen Remover - 5 Litre

If you spend hours pressure washing around your paths and garden I recommend you try this. We only pressure wash every 3-4 years since using this as it keeps the lichen and algae away. We used it 3 years ago on garden shed roofs and haven’t had to repeat it since. It killed all the moss and we just had to sweep it off after about 3 weeks (when the weather improved). We are surrounded by mature trees and woodland and what a difference it makes.We recommend it to everyone and they see the difference very quickly in their gardens and buildings too. We’ve used the dilute yourself as well as the ‘as it comes’ with the same results. It’s 100% effective in a very short period of time. We used it on the top of a decorative wall and the algae was gone in 3 days.I do like to pressure wash - I find it very therapeutic but I do give in around the end of March and feel I’m cheating with Spear & Jackson 😀

Obviously I think that this product works as I have bought it more than once. Although 5 litres may not sound much it does require diluting 4:1 and actually makes 25 litres which will treat a substantial area. It's simple to use with a garden sprayer and simply needs to be sprayed over the area that you need to clean. It works progressively and gradually, but quite quickly, cleans the area and keeps working for months. There are other brands that do a similar thing but I suspect they all use the same chemical (which is child and pet friendly) but tend to cost more (a lot more in some cases). This product does all I ask at a reasonable price.

Would highly recommended this product amazing results … great value for money all stubborn green algae removed from fencing and wooden sleepers with very little effort used on my patio in places on brick work completely sorted , used pressurised spray applicator to apply the chemical only used 1 litre of product diluted with 4 litres of waterLooked amazing the next day , simply gave the wood panels a brush down with a soft brush a few days later now are ready to paint if requiredBut I have to say , fencing looks that good I don’t think I will need to job done 👍

Brilliant bit of kit. Extremely quick and easy to use. Would definitely buy again and started to work in 24hrs noticeably.

I have only done a test patch but this stuff definitely works. However, the reason for 4* is it's a very 'toxic' substance when wet and the cat didn't take too kindly to being locked inside for the time it took to dry. I was also concerned about my resident hedgehog but luckily it was fully dried before the evening. Be aware this stuff is very toxic to aquatic life, other animals when wet, and plants. I will finish the patio but probably won't use it elsewhere in the garden.

Good delivery. Excellent product and easy to use. The patio was green, now back to its normal colour after one application.

Give the fluid time to work for a few days before considering a second coat. It needs some time to make a really marked difference. Rapid effect on moss but far slower for lichen patches.

Really good stuff, does what it says. Cleaned up our old concrete paths and patio to a great standard.
