Works perfectly
I own a 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback Grand Touring. The dealer charged me $100 to upgrade the firmware and a local audio shop charged another $100 to change out the hub. Works perfectly...I purchased an aftermarket Jupiter CD player from POSSPO which I have in the glovebox. The Jupiter has a longer USB cable than other brands.

Super Easy If You Have the Right Tools and Do your Research
Just installed it 1 day after receiving it. So, I can't comment on the reliability yet. But, it is far easier to install than some comments make it out to be. Save yourself a lot of hassel and get a trim removal kit first. To remove the cover plate on the original hub: pop off the SD card cover, remove the SD card, take an angled pull tool, place the end into the hole that is closest to the center of the cover plate, and pull firmly. Once the face is off, there are 4 plastic retainers, (one on each corner - they exist on the replacement unit too, so use that as reference), depress them with metal picks or flat head screw drivers (note: they are fragile so some will like break). Then you should be able to slide it out.Trim removal for running and connecting the wires to the head unit/sceeen varies by model, you'll need to look it up. However, you should not need to remove more than one or two panels and also drop down the glove box.Regarding the software update: There are youtube videos out there with live download links for the update, don't rely on the support email provided with the hub.In all, it took about half an hour to do the full software update and under 40 minutes to install the hub. Plan for 2-2.5 hours if you're not experienced with these jobs.

Type-C Port dies after 6 months
The media could not be loaded. Less than a year later, USB Type C port no longer works.Other ports work fine, but after 6 months the Type C port no longer works. The power flickers on and off every 5-10 seconds. So my iPhone goes Charging, not charging, charging, not charging. I’ve only used the Type C port twice so this isn’t due to me excessively unplugging and replugging into the port, nor is it the cable itself.

It's good considering the price
Overall it's been good. I haven't tested carplay but I do use android auto daily.2015 Mazda Atenzav70.00.367 4A NIssues experienced on rare occasions- doesn't detect phone but charges it. I have to unplug then plug the phone back in- doesn't detect the phone at all, I have unplug the phone and restart the car- voice input will not work. It works after unplugging the phone and restarting the car

Works Great!
Waited a long time to purchase this. Was hesitant to find a source and trust it to do the required software update before installing. Found a source for the Mazda update and performed the update and didn't brick the radio so I had the required software version to support carplay in my 2018 CX5. Found this model which lets you use wireless which was a bonus. Included instructions are not enough to install but there are online videos that will help. It still was a little pain feeding the wires even using a fishtape. Got it all done and it works wonderfully!. I can leave my iphone in my pocket and it attaches to carplay in 15-20 seconds after starting the car. I can now use Waze and Sirus XM from my phone all displayed on the car screen. I have a wireless phone holder/charger so no issue with the phone battery running down either.

Easy installation but faulty wireless connection
Loved how easy it was to install, btw if you’re a visual learner you can look up a video on YouTube! I have a 2017 Mazda 6 grand touring and I had to update my system before beginning installation so if you don’t want to do that then make sure your system is compatible before purchasing. I didn’t like how the wireless connection can sometimes be faulty especially since it’s so early on. Also keep in mind the security feature Mazda touchscreen has, which doesn’t let you touch the screen while driving! It makes the app CarPlay a little less user friendly since you have to use the commander control (center console) to click through things.

Works flawlessly and easy to install!!
*UPDATE 10/30/24* I’ve had this installed for about 8 months now and it still works perfectly!*UPDATE 06/10/25* had this installed for over a year now, a year and a half to be exact, and it’s still going strong! Buy it!I was planning on getting this installed but wasn’t trying to spend a couple hundreds so I decided to just install it myself (with the help of youtube). Only took about an hour and I didn’t have to take apart my center console or drill out the old usb hub like I watched other people do. Overall the installation was easier than I anticipated, the “hard” parts were removing the old usb hub (I yanked it out but it’s easier if someone helps you) and removing the trim on my dashboard. Also I’m a girl who sucks at building/putting things together so if I was able to do it you can too :) hopefully this product holds up well I’ll update in a few months
