Is the rock hollow from the inside? I'm trying to cover a sprinkler when not in use.

Yes, it is hollow. I used mine to cover the water clean outs that are in my front yard..... I am sure it will work to cover a sprinkler.

I have an electrical box to cover. It is 12" high and about 8" wide. Can anyone provide me with the interior dimensions?

15" high from top to base. The base is 18" wide on the narrow side and 23" wide on the longer side (the base is an oval not a circle).

The measurements listed on your amazon site for this x-large faux rock are very confusing. Can you give me a more straightforward measurement?

ok ... its odd shaped like a natural rock ... we covered a square electric box 14"Height, 13"front to back, 15"left to right. at its base the rocks opening is 24" wide but it is triangular in shape, so narrows as it gets taller. Also 18" at its highest point inside center ... hope this doesn't confuse you more :)
