What can I say? The pencils themselves are beautiful, substantial tools. The grades are a little strange in this pack. Their H leads are harder than, say Staedtler. This doesn't make them bad, just different. The gap between the HB and 3B for example, is pretty big. But, the lead is smooth, and all blends together well with an experienced hand. Definitely an investment, I wish they make lead refills for clutch pencils. The B leads are creamy.

I certainly didn’t need another set but bought these after trying out one I’d bought open stock. They are buttery smooth and the hex design and larger barrel makes them feel more like an extension of my hand than a pencil. A pleasant surprise along with a pristine tin not dented in delivery. Highly recommend.

These are fine drawing pencils. If they have any cons it's that they are a little bigger than standard pencils. But then they put a little extra lead surrounded by a little extra wood. So even that's not bad. I'm a rank beginner so I bought several brands of pencils to see if there is actually a difference in the drawing quality between makes. There is. You generally get what you pay for in pencils. These pencils go on smooth and sharpen well. What more do you need.

Well, what do you expect from the Swiss? They are very serious about quality and these pencils reveal that. They are worth the extra cost. The smoothness with which they lay down their graphite is like butter. Also, be aware that the size of these pencils, their width, isn't standard; they are much larger.

One of the best Art Pencils in the market nowadays (together with Mitsubish Uni and maybe just a little better than Staedler). You will need an extra large sharpener due the size and shape of pencils. Farber Castel 3 holes and mainly Staedler sharpener work the better).

These are OK but overpriced drawing pencils, on a par with Blackwing (which are also overpriced). They are in no way superior to Derwent Graphic, Faber-Castell or Staedtler Mars. In my opinion, they are inferior to Mitsu-Bishi Hi-uni drawing pencils, which I've come to regard as the best for my style of drawing. In a way, their smoothness is a disadvantage, as is overactive power-steering in a car. You lose the feel of what you are doing. Above all, they seem to be a bit "greasy". I can't even say that about Blackwing!

Zwischen der Beschaffenheit von Bleistiften der einzelnen Hersteller sind sicherlich nur Nuancen - daher vielleicht einige schlechte Bewertungen. Für realistisches Zeichnen eignen sich die Bleistifte von Caran D'ache in Verbindung mit dem richtigen Papier allerdings hervorragend, finde ich. Insbesondere 3B, 5B, 7B sowie 9B haben einen super soften Abrieb. Sie sind etwas dicker und liegen für meinen „Geschmack“ daher sehr gut in der Hand. Macht einfach Spaß mit ihnen zu zeichnen.Ich benutze bzw. habe schon mit Bleistiften von vielen anderen Herstellern gezeichnet, aber meine Lieblingsstifte sind neben den Grafwoods von Caran D’ache auch die Staedler Lumograph Mars / Lumograph Mars Black.Wer interessiert ist und das nötige Geld investieren möchte, dem lege ich daher die Bleistifte von Caran D’Ache gern ans Herz.
