Fun and Functional!
Here we have some functional recessed lights. We needed additional lighting and these lights did the trick. They are durable quality of plastic and installed easily. After I plugged them in, they started flashing wonderful colors. The app is easy to use, but also a little confusing and you can do cool atmospheric features with it.You only get one selection of Warm White and Cool White so you cant make it more yellow/blue etc unless you create a scene. It remembers colors you set turning on and off. Works well, will update if any changes. Very cool and great value!

Some connection/range issues with lights. More serious issue with app.
I ordered these YHW 6 Inch 15W Smart Recessed Lighting, 4 Pack, Bluetooth Mesh RGB Color Changing Ceiling Down Lights for my family room where my TV is located. I want to have bright warm white light for normal activities and color background light when watching movies. I also need independent control so I can turn off one of the side lights when in movie mode. The bulbs have finally advanced to where they provide good brightness in both white and color mode. I've had mixed luck with Bluetooth mesh bulbs in the past but decided to give these a try. I would like to be able to integrate operation of the lights, simple things like “regular” mode and “movie” mode with other smart lights. The lights were easy to install though I prefer spring retainers in my cans over these little black things. Some of these lights aren't as tight to the ceiling as I'd prefer. I had to install the “Hao Deng” app on three Android devices before I found one that would actually connect to the lights. All of the Android devices were running much later versions of the OS than v4.4 . Obviously, the listing does not adequately describe the device requirements. And is it limited to a mobile phone? If so, why? I'd much rather prefer to use a dedicated tablet than pulling out my phone every time. It's as if they want access to other information on or control over your phone. I'm sick and tired of every product requiring their own app and being subject to the whims and rule changes of a company to use a product I've purchased. All it takes is for the company to go out of business, start charging to use their app or make unacceptable terms and conditions to make the lights worthless. So once I found an Android device that worked with the app, it was easy to add the four lights, rename them and even create a group and add three of the lights to it. In operation, I need to be within a 12 to 14 foot range to connect to the lights (not the 20 meters mentioned). The lights themselves are positioned 7, 7 and 12 feet apart. The light that is 12 feet from the next sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Sometimes that light will come on with the group but the app takes 2 or 3 seconds to show the updated state. If I turn the lights off at the wall switch and power them on, they return to the previous state. I have had issues where I needed to reboot my Android device after it has gone to sleep and the lights were powered off before it will reconnect to them. The lights themselves are everything I hoped for regarding brightness and color. Yellow has a greenish tint but that appears common with about every LED light I've tried. Warm white is great. Cool white is bright but I'm not a fan.The proprietary Hao Deng app and wireless protocol make these lights a product to avoid. If only there was a firmware update that allowed them to be controlled with an app of my choice, I would upgrade my review to 5 stars. As is, they get a 2 bordering on a 1 rating.

Would be great if they worked for longer.
This 4 pack of lights averages out at $12.50 a downlight... at this price EVERYONE can put a 1970s disco in their kitchen. These downlighters are super easy to install as long as you are replacing existing can lights and you have ordered the right size. The downlight fitting is powered by a regular ES connection and holds firm in the downlight can with a couple of spring loaded clips on the side. It almost takes you longer to move the ladder than install the light. I found it easier to install the lights one by one and connect them to the app individually than wrestling with all 4 at the same time.First test for me was to install these while my wife was out. I set them to warm white and tried to match the brightness level of the old LED lights. I must have been close enough because she didn't realize the change until I turned them red! :) Long story short. These lights remember the last color you set them they have white LEDs so they are not making white from RGB LEDs and if you just use them as regular dimmable downlighters without the app they work well. But connecting them to the app (via Bluetooth) is easy and fun. It took less than a minute to connect each light and once done, you can control them from your phone - color, brightness, effect. There is even a music mode where the lights flash in time to the beat - but you need your phone open with the app running near the lights and music source. The instructions say that with a smart bridge will allow me to connect to Alexa and maybe I'll go there - but not now. On initial review, these are great value for money - break out the Bee Gees... I'm leaving them installed. 5 stars*** UPDATE ***2 days later - for no apparent reason all 4 lights have started flashing on and off every second. They will not connect to Bluetooth, they will power off but when you power them back on they just do the same. They will not respond to any of the factory reset (v1 or v2) instructions. I am going to leave them powered down overnight and if they do not reset on their own I'm taking them out. - Frustrating. 3 Stars*** UPDATE 2 ***2 more days later - completely unable to resolve. Removed lights and put the old ones back in. If you can keep these working, they may be great for you. My experience was not a good one. 2 stars

Easy software good lights *update
This is an update. One of these only lasted a week and is now dead. The one that had a flicker when turning on is the one that died. It's probably a bad led, but one week is unacceptable. This 4 pack was perfect to try out in the kitchen. I installed these in about 10 minutes and the software walked me through the set up ezpz. These lights in standard light mode aka warm or cool are great. They are just as bright as the bulbs they replaced. The color modes work perfectly as well but color light is always dimmer. It's obviously not for normal everyday use, but set the lights to music mode and turn on your stereo and watch the light show. It's like a concert is going on in your kitchen.Every once in a while one light will flicker when 1st hitting the wall switch, but only once and never again while powered on. I'm guessing that it's connecting to my network and restarting or something.Otherwise these are great the app is easy to use, it has lots of features. However, if you want to control the lights through say Google home you will need a sold separately BT mesh hub. That's really my only gripe, but it's understandable.
