mounts to winch and bed of truck no issues
i needed a winch mount so i could use a small winch in the back of my truck to pull up heavy items, especially a engine driven welder\generator that i have on a cart ( 500+- lbs. used on my remote property and a backup generator) i used the factory cargo loops on my Chevy truck mounted the winch on this plate and at the tailgate i mounted a roller on a 2x4 so it would smoothly rollover the tailgate and setup two ramps and pulled up the welder like it was nothing ,great anchor plate , i used a HF badlands 2500 winch on it and bolted right up ..

Didn't use it as described
I actually used this to mount my winch to my four wheeler. I can state that it is heavy duty and it worked just great with a piece of angle iron to attach to the bike. The chains are heavy also. I would think that it would work as described with no issues. I have already used the winch to pull the four wheeler out of a mud bog, and the plate is not the worse for wear.

Winch plate is very thick and is heavy duty! Recommended
First impressions: the plate and chains are very thick and heavy duty. A bit more than I expected, which is good, but a bit heavy. Read all of the comments prior to ordering and was curious how the chains would fit the slots; the one I received did not require any modifications and could slide in and out. The dead end (loose side) when installed, I plan on using a few zip ties to make sure it doesn’t slip out. Very unlikely, but the though has crossed my mind.Bolt pattern; bought this to work with a ZXR 3500 HF winch so I assumed the bolt pattern would be different and require drilling. After comparison with this plate and the HF winch bracket, the holes will in fact need drilled. But I was surprised to see that the 2 center bolt hole patter does match up between the winch plate and winch bracket. So, in theory, someone could buy a smaller 2 bolt winch from HF and have it directly fit. Why’d I choose this set up vs mounting a winch to one point. Versatility. Will use this for cargo in my truck bed but with portability, it can be moved to a trailer to drag on or off as needed.

Same as other reviews - chain slot poorly cut and must be modified.
The supplied chain will not fit into the slotted attachment points on the anchor plate. For the anchor plate to function you need to use your grinder or files to correct this. Unfortunately this will remove the powder coating. And on my plate there is an uncoated spot where it appears the plate was hung from a hook during the powder coat application. iIt is a shame to have to spray Rustoleum over this plate and wait 24 hours for it to dry before being able to assembly the anchor plate to your winch. Except for the preceding defects, the plate functions well. The bolts on the underside will scratch the metal deck or gouge a wooden deck, if the plate is used on a car hauler or equipment trailer. Not a problem obviously if you use the winch anchored to a tree, or put a piece of plywood under the winch assembly. Supplied hardware is Grade 5; I felt more comfortable using this after I bought Grade 8 replacements. I was tempted to upgrade the chains to G70, but the flange on the plate is too small for that.

It works
I gave this to my mother for mothers day. My dad was able to attach his winch to it and then attach it to a tree to assist him in lowering their dock down a large hill to the lake. He will use it again in the fall to pull the dock out of the lake before the lake freezes. I am hoping we find some other uses for it because it is a very good universal setup for a winch.

Works with Warn 80010 1000 lbs AC winch!
The WARN 80010 1000 lbs AC winch will attach with three of the four bolts included in the winch's box (not the plate). Getting those bolts into it is not particularly fun though; you need tiny fingers or a pair of needle nose pliers to get the nut or bolt down into the winch housing depending on which side you decide to put which part. Once attached though, getting a wrench in there with enough leverage to hold it in place for tightening is not easy either; you'll probably do best with a low profile angled head wrench.Once you've got the plate attached to your winch, getting the chain links into the holes can take some work. Others have pointed this out as well in their reviews. I personally think it's intentional on Warn's part, because you certainly don't want a chain to accidentally fall out. They advise you to attach with at least six links to spare, then wrap the links over the top, but you know most people will ignore the manual and just put the second link through the hole and call it a day; that is probably why they have made the link holder very tight. I found rather than file it down to make it easy, I just put the link half way in and bump the winch and plate against the driveway, or a rock, etc. to knock it through, then it works fine. I tend to leave the chains attached and looped over so it isn't a big deal.I'd have gone with five starts as it's pretty cost effective for what it does, but went with four because the finish scratches fairly easily. I'm in a salt air environment so I suspect that means it's going to start rusting very soon.

Easy way to use my winch in the back of my truck without installing anything... worked great .

VERY heavy and solidly built for the task
This is exactly what we needed to anchor our WARN electric winch to a tree in order to haul up our floating swim dock. Did not want something flimsy and we were not disappointed. This is very heavy duty and does the job of supporting the winch nicely. Holes are predrilled in the correct spaces for WARN products, not sure how it would work out of the package for another company's winch.
