This makes excellent bread
When I buy a flour what I want is a flour that is a top grade stoneground organic flour which makes great loafs that rise readily, have good crust development and taste great - well with this flour that's exactly what you get - every time. We love this flour, clearly a lot as the bag was intended to last six months and already it's gone. We buy lots of different flours from Bacheldre and so far have never been disappointed the prices are amazing, especially when you compare them to the same product from Waitrose. Now I am an intuitive baker, by which I mean I measure nothing, I make my loafs from a sourdough sponge, I then roughly double the volume with flour and water until it feels right - proof until doubled and then bake for about 20 mins. I find this flour very forgiving in that I get quality results time and time again despite my unscientific methods.

Quality control lapse on my last batch
I don't like to moan about what is actually a really good quality flour but on my last 16kg order, the flour was so full of bran as to look not too dissimilar to Bacheldre's wholemeal flour. It also contained some wheat grains. I put it down to a bad day at the mill but still something that needs to be more closely monitored. I will remain a customer but might shop around for white from now on.

Simply the Best!
This is the best ever flour. Excellent texture bread. We bake a loaf a day in our Morphy Richard breadmaker and it is a marriage made in heaven. Results are perfect everytime. I highly recommend Bacheldre Watermill strong white bread flour, I will be back for more. Do try it, it is SIMPLY THE BEST! We have used every make on the market and non beats it!

lovely flour
I have been making my own bread by hand for 40 years and I love the flour from this mill. It makes the best bread ever. I use white and the stoneground organic malted brown. I now get the sack of 16KG of each on a regular subscribe and save order.

Great Baking Flour

Fantastic flavour, wonderful. tasty bread and because it has its enzymes intact it is easily digested without bloating.
