Buy Whole Foods Online Caraway Seeds 1 Kg

I make caraway seed cakes for my Dad every week, so I do get through them! These are great, very fresh and last about a year in a dark cupboard. I'm onto my second packet. Very good value.

I grind this in my coffee grinder and it’s a lovely addition to my homemade mixed spice which I use for my vegan fruit cake.

I was very impressed with these caraway seeds. They were very aromatic (more so that other caraway seeds I've purchased recently), which likely indicates they were fairly fresh, and there didn't appear to be any spoiled or discoloured seeds in the bag. The flavour and crispness of the seeds was very good.This particular batch had the country of origin listed as the Netherlands and had nine months from the date of delivery until the best before date. I found that a kilo of caraway seeds is almost exactly two litres in volume, which was perfect for storage in a two litre glass jar, such as  Kilner Round Clip Top Jars 2ltr - Case of 6 | Kilner Preservation Jars, Kilner Storage Jars, Kilner Jam Jars with Cliptop Lid . The nutritional information on the label is exactly the same as that pictured in the listing photographs (which is not always the case). Also on the label it states "May contain traces of: Cereals (including Gluten), Nuts (including Peanuts), Soya & Sesame", which will have implications for those with certain allergies.I've yet to come across better caraway seeds so I would certainly recommend these ones.

These are the tiniest caraway seeds I have ever seen! Those in the 250g pack by the same supplier, very ordinary in themselves, are giants by comparison.I had never had an issue with size of caraway seeds before, but the moment you see these you know they are exceptionally small. Oh dear! I can't trust this supplier again.

I bought this to grind for addition in seed cakes and find when cakes cooked with butter mix rather than oil mix the full flavour of this ground seed shines through even stronger stronger.
