Feelin' Good

If some or all of this album doesn't make you feel good, seek help or make some dramatic changes in your life. I just purchased over thirty albums over the last few weeks from all over the map and this is the only one which will most certainly be listened to for many years to come. NOW has a special touch. Feelin Good is up there with Smokers Delight, Mind Elevation and Thought So... if you don't have them all you really are missin out on some of the finest groove over the last twenty years. Primo! Particularly tracks 1,2,3 and 6, but it's all real good.

I madly adore all this NOW, but I felt let down by this CD. It seems to be lacking the magic and creativity of earlier works. Usually after I listen to a CD a handful of times I am either really digging it, or not feeling it. And this one is still up in the air. leaning toward not "Feeling Good" about it at this time. I'm sad about that. ;o(

Didn't know what to expect from this disc.But, I was pleasantly surprised. Way different than Carboot Soul disc, that was nice because I like hearing a band grow.

Another excellent effort by Nightmares on Wax. Each track is very well produced and taken as a whole the album is a great companion for late afternoon get together with friends.

George does fine work. This is no exception. Consistent with his past albums, any Nightmares on Wax should get into these grooves.

I have not set out to write reviews of the music content as “beauty is in the ears of the listener”. These reviews are about the quality (or not) of the recorded sound. To read about how the reviews are done please see my profile.This recording has a very open spacious sound quality. The jazz influences can be clearly heard.The open feel of the recording is aided by the clarity of the music. The piano clearly “tinkles” whilst the brass instruments are well defined, indeed the player’s breathing is just audible. The drums are sharp and clear with rim shots clearly defined.There is no unintentional distortion or audible compression. By way of atmosphere recorded vinyl “hiss” has been introduced enhancing the laid back feel of the recording.The channel balance is good and not used as an instrument but has been set up like a live recording with instruments in clear positions. This enhances the spaciousness of the recording. The layers gradually build without becoming muddy and loosing detail, as becomes a recording to chill to.The vocals are clear and languid, backed by clear strings. A beautifully record acoustic guitar is also evident. The bass guitar is clearly defined and not lost.This is a high quality recording to chill to.

i just don't know how they ALWAYS make SO funky n smooth n lovely albums!! Just another Fantastic album from N.O.W. expect all the usual fabulous soundscapes, grooves n good vibes. I just don't know how they do it - again and again and again and again!?!What a wonderful album...more tunes to add to my favourites list!!

I don't think that I've ever heard two Nightmares on Wax albums that sound the same, and this new offering is no different. It's one of these albums where you hear something different on each listening and I love it for that. From laid back chilled out grooves to full on jazzy dance tracks this album has something for everyone, I'm enjoying it more and more with every listen and when I play it for friend I'm always being asked what I'm playing.

Kind of took me back to listening to 'Smokers Delight' post Hacienda - a great album to relax to with a glass of wine!
