Slim, Well-Fit MagSafe Case That Protects Without Feeling Bulky
This is a well-made, slim phone case that fits perfectly, installs easily, and works reliably with MagSafe. It offers solid everyday protection without turning your phone into a brick, and the Frost Black finish avoids the long-term yellowing issues of clear cases. If you want practical protection, clean design, and zero fuss, this case does exactly what it claims. Context & Use Case I’m using this case on a regular iPhone 17 and have had it on my phone for about a month. This is my daily driver case — the phone spends some time in my pocket, but most of the day it’s face-down on a desk, charging via MagSafe at night, or sitting nearby while I work. I’ve used Spigen cases across several iPhones and Galaxy devices over the years, and my goal is always the same: enough protection for normal drops without unnecessary bulk or gimmicks. Fit & Installation Installation is snug but straightforward, which is exactly what I want in a case. Working it around the corners takes a little care, but once it’s on, there’s no movement or looseness. All cutouts line up perfectly, buttons are easy to access, and there’s no wiggling anywhere once installed. I’d much rather a case fit tightly than snap on too easily. Build Quality & Durability Build quality feels premium for the price. The materials feel solid, not flimsy, and the raised bezels on both the front and back provide just enough lift to protect the screen and camera without adding bulk. This isn’t the thickest or most rugged case on the market, but based on past experience with Spigen, it’s more than capable of handling everyday drops and bumps. So far, there’s no visible wear, no stretching, and no issues with the finish. Functionality & Performance MagSafe performance has been excellent. The magnets hold securely on my bedside charger, including in landscape orientation, and I’ve noticed no charging issues or slowdowns. Buttons remain tactile with a clear click, with no accidental presses. Ports and speakers are unobstructed, and there’s been no dust or lint buildup so far. Overall, the case does exactly what it advertises without introducing new problems. Design & Daily Experience I originally considered a clear case but chose the Frost Black version specifically to avoid any yellowing concerns. On a black phone, it looks clean, subtle, and matches the product photos closely. The back is smooth and slightly slick, but the sides provide enough grip that I never feel concerned about dropping the phone. In daily use, it strikes a good balance between comfort, grip, and pocketability. Who It’s For / Who It’s Not This case is a great fit for anyone who wants reliable everyday protection in a slim profile, especially if MagSafe compatibility matters. It’s also a solid option if you want a minimal look without committing to a fully clear case. If you’re looking for maximum drop protection, extreme ruggedness, or built-in stands or rings, this likely isn’t the right case. Like most accessories, it’s about choosing the right tradeoffs for how you use your phone. Final Rating Five stars. The case fits well, installs easily, holds up to daily use, and delivers exactly what it claims. At the current price point, it’s an excellent value, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again — in fact, I already picked up the clear version for my partner’s phone.

Great case but discolored quickly
Great phone case, well-built and protective, but shouldn’t claim to stay clear longer than any other brands. Took a month and a half for me to notice yellowing on the sides. I know every clear case will yellow, it’s the nature of the material, but you can’t claim to be any better than other brands with results like that. One star off for deceptive marketing, but it really is a good case otherwise.

nice case but hard to use mag feature
..this case functions well, fits well and the camera button cover is nice...however, the area around the lenses is raised with makes the magnet useless unless you can slide the phone so the lens area is off the edge of the surface you want to attach it to..also, the cover for the lenses fell off within 24 hours...in all fairness, every lens cover I have tried does the same and the raised surface over the lenses is pretty standard..it is a feature of the phone..not sure how a case can overcome this unless it is thicker over the body so a smooth surface is available..

Why I'm not happy
Every time I trade in my phone, which is every year I go through the same ritual of searching for the best case for it. Right up front I want to say I would rather not use a case at all but one drop on a hard surface for any of today’s smartphones is going to damage it. And besides, the nicer I keep it looking the more they will give me for my trade. FIRST IMPRESSIONS I respect this brand and I own a lot of their products. For me this one was not a winner. I mentioned my search for the perfect case. That usually entails buying at least a half dozen of them. And I mean buying with my own money. My immediate reaction was of disappointment. This looks and feels no different from those many no name brands, several of which I bought to compare them. It is not as crystal clear at the T brand which I have very divided opinions on. By the way I feel it is respectful if I just use the initial, most people shopping for cases know what that means. By comparison to the second most expensive one I’ve bought, at thirty-five bucks, this is more down in the price range of those unknown brands. But they, and the Z brand, lead the industry so I’m here to compare all three plus some of the ones that cost under then bucks. The Spigen just doesn’t feel special in any way, it is almost exactly like the sub-ten buck brands. It seems slightly cloudy, not crystal clear like the T brand. On the other hand this one feels grippy while the T brand is a slippery as a greased flounder. WHAT I LIKE That’s a difficult question, so I have to be straight with you, I can’t think of anything that stands out as a major positive. NOW THE BAD NEWS The button covers are terrible. How can they talk about the tactile feeling? The so-called button covers are just molded nubs on the sides of the case. They are almost flush with the case making them difficult to find by touch, especially that brand new Action button on my new iphone pro max, they didn’t even make a half-hearted effort to give it more of a cap or textured or some color, they actually made it worse than what so many are saying about the location and feel of that button. To me it is an important feature and Spigen did not get it right. By the way the winner so far for button covers is the T brand – if they only weren’t so slippery they would probably rank as the best of the crowd. A few other things I am not fond of with this case, one is it shouldn’t be called a slim case, it is among the thickest of the clear cases out there. Also in the negative column is the raised lip around the screen, the edge of it is sharp and unfinished and if I rub my finger against the edge of my screen, a common Apple swipe, I can feel that sharp edge against my finger. I saved the worst for last, having their logo emblazoned on the side and even worse if that’s possible is a tacky advertising slogan that says air cushion technology with an ARROW pointing at my phone’s corner. Bad decision Spigen, I know what I bought, I don’t need to advertise it for you for free. YES NO MAYBE You may notice I didn’t say much about the Z brand. That’s because at a whopping fifty bucks it is ridiculous for a piece of plastic that cost pennies to make. I did buy it to compare it and they definitely win on anti-slip compared to anybody but their button covers are no better that anyone else. So I put them out of the running for being overpriced. But that reminds me of one thing I do like about the Spigen and that is the magsafe ring is very strong as they promised it would be and the dark gray version makes the ring invisible on my titanium phone. Most of the others use a white ring. And the are the only one of the many I tried that has raised feet at three of the corners opposite the camera module. It makes a big difference when I set my phone down not to wobble like the other cases. For that and the strong magnet I’ll go an extra star above average and call this a four star case. It could be a lot better, but it’s not that bad.

What you’d expect for a low price
This review is specifically for the iPhone 17 Pro Max version of this case. It’s about what you’d expect for such a low price. Sure it has a nice secure fit and decent drop protection but if you’re picky like me, you’ll notice many flaws. The camera cutouts are uneven and leave too much space on one side of each lens, leaving room for dust and debris. Same for the cutouts for the flash and lidar sensor. The cutouts for the bottom speakers are slightly uneven as well as the charger port, but not so much as to disturb the functionality of either. Additionally, the cutout for the top earpiece/speaker is VERY uneven and bugs the heck out of me. Like I said, you’re buying a cheap case so expect a cheap case. Slightly disappointing as I’ve owned many Spigen cases/protectors over the past 10 years and this is the first one to let me down.

Acheté pour ma conjointe elle en est contente, la protection est bonne et le MagSafe tient bien. On s’attend à ce qu’elle jaunisse mais c’est la maladie de toutes les coques transparentes
