Product Enterprise Captain Scarlet - SPV

A nice model… but should it have been a bit bigger for me and the heavy/handed weathering and the painted on panel lines let it down.A previous review states that the original blueprints were used to produce it — this isn’t true as no blueprints exist ( if they ever did!)A fan magazine in the 80’s Phil Rae printed a schematic he drew of the SPV and the PE SPV was built from this— the rear lamp thingies mentioned were not dust creators, but just scalextric oil cans from the Grand Prix track side accessories kit used for kit bashing!

I just bought this item and all I can say about it is "WOW!!!!" I have 4 SPV's in my collection, made by Dinky Toy's, Konami, and Vivid Imagination respectively but this one is the jewel in the Crown. This version is even better than 1960's Dinky version which is made of Die -Cast metal coupled with excellent workmanship, now that's really saying something." Enterprise" pulled out all the stops, the detail and craftsmanship is superb and it looks amazing . As a devotee of the original series I love all the vehicles with the SPV being my favourite, therefore I do not make these comments lightly. So, if you love all things Gerry Anderson I urge you to get this item if you can, it truly is a work of art and as good as it gets.

i did write a review for this item,firstly i did not buy as a toy,it would have been nice to have been sent some info on how to work the front firing missile.but overall it is a solid piece of kit.nice and big,just what the seller had said.

The Product Enterprise SPV is possibly the most accurate replica of this iconic vehicle. It was designed using the actual blueprints of the original studio miniature, designed by Derek Meddings, and realised by his assistant, Mike Trim. There is no missile feature on this model - the 'real' vehicle does not fire missiles, but uses a retractable 'auto cannon' to destroy stuff. The door opens by pressing on the centre of the door, releasing a catch. This is a clever idea, making the release almost unnoticeable. Inside, although hard to see, is the control panel, and there is, of course, a nicely detailed Captain Scarlet sitting in his ejector seat. The exterior of the model is correctly lined and weathered [Excepting FAB 1, no vehicle on any Gerry Anderson show was ever pristine].The markings are tampo printed, and the correct size.The wheels are correct, and have pleasantly squashy tyres fitted. The rear caterpillar tracks are retractable, and moveable. There is also a chrome-plated bar at the rear, with a small nozzle on each end. This item shows how closely the blueprints were followed - It could be the water-jet for propulsion when the SPV crosses deep water [it was designed to be amphibious], but it isn't. It's where small 'Jetex' jets were put to stir up dust when the models were shown chasing someone down a highway at speed. This is a great model, and not a toy. Also, it is to the same scale as the Corgi Spectrum Patrol Car, and they look good displayed together.

just as a previous customer has said about this very nice piece of kit, the detailing is just great, and the way it works just like the real model from the series, the suspension moves the write way and the tank drive on the rear also works too. What I didn't realise, their is not a gun on this model of the SPV from the series it was not put in, Captain Scarlet - Complete Series Box Set [DVD] [1967 ] but who cares it looks great anyway, but it would of been nice if it did have the gun comeing out of the front like on the TV show.The door opens the write way though NICE! from an old Gezza.
