It takes some learning but I like how it turned out

Easy to use
Needed an extra container of the stain for my cabinets. It looks like real wood when applied right and was easy to use. I was able to update my ugly outdated cabinets without having to completely replace them. It’s a nice temporary fix for us

NOT an all-in-one! Requires a base of liquid wood or primer.
This product did not perform as advertised. I used this product on a vanity which had cheap veneer on top that was scratched. I filled in the scratches and after watching the product videos on the company page I decided to do a base in dark walnut and grain with java. This product is advertised as an all-in-one with the qualities of liquid wood and stain in one. The videos showed people using 2 coats of the base color followed by 1 coat of the secondary color grained over. This is not what I experienced, the wood'n'stain is very thin. The first picture is what 2 coats of the dark walnut looks like over a wood veneer. The lighter color you see coming through is the original color of the vanity. The wood'n'stain had very poor coverage even with 3 coats in some areas. It did not cover the original color or evenly color over areas where wood filler had been used. After doing several coats I had to backtrack and do a coat of liquid wood then do the whole process over again. The second picture is liquid wood followed by 2 coats of dark walnut and grained with Java. Overall, I am happy with the end result. I am however very unhappy with how this product performed based on how it is advertised. This product requires use of either liquid wood or the primer before use. If I had to do it all over again I would have just used 2 colors of the original liquid wood and stained over it. The product also seemed to have some small chunks in it that are now stuck on my vanity since I couldn't mess with it to take them off as I had just grained it.

It Actually Worked!
I am truly shocked at the results! I thought this sounded too good to be true. I read the reviews, and really wrestled with trying this product. I started out with a really shiny table that was 2 shades. I wanted it darker to match the antique chairs that I purchased. I put 1 coat and followed the pattern in the table. It looked great! I put 2 coats on the lighter shaded leaf. There were a few places where the finish was gone, bare wood. I went over those again and blended the brush strokes. It looks like a new table. I ordered the Retique It Poly acrylic to put over the new finish. I hope it works as well as this.

Very Gritty!!
I used this to cover the top of a bar height dining table I was trying to flip. The product insert stated that it could be mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with water and used as a stain. The look was fabulous! Unfortunately, the product had grit which I then had to use steel wool to try and remove to no avail. I then used the remaining product with a small amount of water trying to maintain the look of distressed wood gray over the original expresso color wood. Table looks great but I can not sell it as it feels gritty thus dirty! Created a great deal of extra work and many hours!

Amazing product!
I got this table for a DIY project , after sanding down the top I accidentally blew through the Vaneer and wasn’t sure what to do. I didn’t want to paint the top because I wanted a wood finish. This stuff came through and looks amazing!

This stuff is magic.
Completely transformed our bedroom furniture. I did three coats. I only added poly to the top of the dresser and left the rest a matte finish. We love the updated look! Easy clean up. Almost no Oder.

Very disappointed
For almost $25 an 8 oz jar, this product better deliver. Unfortunately, it did not.First, I'm pretty sure I received an already-returned jar, as the plastic sealed cover under the lid was already ripped off.Second, after shaking VERY well, there were a LOT of lumps! I'm assuming these are the wood fibers, maybe clumped up. I don't know. Either way, not acceptable. I tried to use the product, swiping until the lumps were gone. It turned out ok, but nothing special. I am almost certain I could of obtained the same results with a sample-size can of flat, brown paint. My last complaint: why aren't there directions on the jar?!?! So odd. It tells you to go to "retique.tv" for instructional videos. Sure, if that link worked. Just put instructions on the jar. I'll even write them for the company: Swipe until all the billions of lumps dissolve, or your hand and arm fall off, whichever comes first.
