Not too bad. I can't trust my memory to go back to childhood, and really remember how much I liked this stuff (I must have, I ordered this). It's a waxy/sticky bundle of joy (depending on the weather on delivery day). Taste is of course subjective, I liked it for what it is (not a gourmet adventure). This brand is a bit "better" (to me) compared to others I have tried (in my pursuit of childhood). Taste and texture were within my expectations. If you're lucky and heat is not a big factor where you are, this should give a pleasent enough feeling.Would order again.

I love licorice shoe laces. I was so excited to receive these, until I opened them. Something happened to them. They are tightly wound and them apparently heated somewhere, some how. They are 1 giant brick. I was not able to peel off any more than maybe 4" of a couple of laces that literally pulled and pulled with all my strength. It's just a giant brick of too tightly packed laces. As I mentioned I believe they were heated somewhere some how because they were just solidly glued together! As for the tiny piece I yanked off, it was a little tart, a little strawberry. Overall, I of course, will not order again. The brick went into the bin. Sadly, it was not edible. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. Been searching for this for a long time. It’s the closest tasting to old strawberry shoelaces licorice from the 60-70s bought for me by my grandfather. This has a nice tart strawberry flavor. Everything else tastes like plastic or twizzlers. Will buy again but plenty in this 2lb bagUpdate: we’ve bought this multiple times and it has had a different taste and diameter per lace each timeSome times too sweet. It’s a bit disappointing that the taste and size is always consistent and the recipe is always the same. What we preferred is when it was a bit more tart but it seems like we can’t get the same product each time

The taste has changed, it's more mellow now, and not very strawberry anymore, but still worth a try, it might be right for you.

It would have been nice if delivery person didnt leave on porch in hot sun all day, but taste was ok

These are fantastic. I ordered a single package for myself because I always adored the old-fashioned red laces, but they are impossible to find anymore. These aren't exactly the same but they are so, so very close. I thought "2 pounds will last me forever." I was so wrong. Both my son and my husband love these as much as I do and they aren't huge candy fans. Basically, in a weekend my family all but demolished the entire package. Solution? I ordered 2 more, lol!UPDATE: After purchasing several times and several household disputes about who keeps eating all the red laces, lol, I got a DUD! Actually, two duds... I've been purchasing in pairs since the disappearance of the first package and when they mess it up, boy, they do it big. These have to be the worst "red laces" I've ever had. They are like the Twizzler pull-n-peel but all pulled apart then lumped together in a sticky mass and gross tasting. So very disappointed. The only reason I didn't drop to 1 star is because the first 3 times I ordered were amazing. Too bad. Now, I'd be terrified to order from them again, at all. Hope they find a way to be more consistent.

The first 2 times I purchased it. It was great quality. It was the right texture and It had a nice strawberry taste other times it would be stuck together or too soft or have a very strong tangy apple taste. So according to what batch it is, whether you get a good Quality item or a poor quality item. It's never the same twice. I've purchased 9 times and have been wonderful.

Delicious. These came fresh to the door and are a great value for the price. The smell and taste are fantastic. Bright colors and soft texture. Will make a fun present for kids.
