"EcoMind" will change your thinking about our looming environmental and ecological threats.
So what else can be written about our looming environmental and ecological disaster. Well, Frances Moore Lappe has once again found a unique voice and vision to share. The author invites us, even the most active of environmental activists, to examine the mental blocks, the mind traps, the limited perspectives of our own thinking to find new ways of thinking about, talking about and acting on environmental issues. Years ago I started with her "Diet for a Small Planet". It changed my life. Everything I have read by Francis Moore Lappe has had that same impact, including "EcoMind". If you think you have read everything there is to read on the environmental and ecological threats we face - you haven't unless you read "EcoMind". "EcoMind" will carry you back to basics, to question your own thinking, your comfortable or familiar assumptions and force you to think again. This is not a "read it and weep" environmental critique. This is Francis Moore Lappe again saying let's re-examine our thinking and approach this problem in a way that might unite us to take action in more creative and inclusive ways.

Eco-Mind Bending
Truly out of the box thinking from Frances Moore Lappe who first expanded my thinking with Food First decades ago. In Eco-Mind she maps a cognitive path away from scarcity and loss to a framework of abundance and recovery. This is an empowering read for those of us who have been struggling to keep smiling as we keep activating on behalf of our human-Earth relationship.

EcoMind
A wonderful piece of work. I watched Al Gore interview with Letterman and EcoMind put Gore to shame! A must read for all those who think they know it all. Balance and Earths pulse is vital. Important source for those who are care about the future. When people say a must read...this is it. ml

Boring to read. Good topic but hard to get through. But I will say it is well researched and documented.

Positive Environmentalism : )
As an environmental studies student, I hear a lot of discouraging information about how our earth is "doomed" in many respect due to the lack of foresight and care of mankind. Reading this book is uplifting, in the way that it is so much more fun and casual to read than a textbook, and in it's positive outlook and encouragement to those who fear the worst for our world. Ecomind sends a clear message that a negative outlook can only set us back - and that we need to look to the future to the workable solutions that we know exist.

Repetitive, but great examples of how we can think positively and make a great steps to lowering our carbon footprint.
Showed examples from various places where they were taking the initiative to go local and reuse wasted material. The author stressed how we often feel paralyzed by and feel our voice or our actions do not matter on the overall scheme of things. We can make a difference and we can change from dependence on foreign oil. I would encourage you to read this mostly to hear examples of what others are doing and how we can be realize how much power we have to live sustainable and leave the earth in such a way that the next generations have enough and can model lives of fruitfulness and sustainability.

Unless your are a brain dead socialist don't waste your money on this tripe. The author is another pie-in-the-sky socialist who has tried to attached a dead concept to the environment movement.

Read this!
Truly inspiring book. I have read a lot of environmental themed books, this is one of my favourites. I read it last year and still think about it all of the time. So many insightful and realistic approaches to being human and environmentally conscious.

Eco-Mind is the right book, at the right time...
Frances Moore Lappe continues to amaze as she effortlessly brings together cohesive issues and perspectives for living a conscious life. I find myself re-reading chapters because they resonate so well with bridging personal change with global sustainability. A recommended addition for anyone managing sustainability in their business, community or home.
