I liked that this box set was a bit cheaper than everywhere else I've seen, but I guess you can see why. The case for season 1 is English, but seasons 2-5 are half French, half English. It isn't a huge deal but aesthetically speaking I'd rather have them all be the same and be completely in English. I knew from other reviews that this would likely be the case though, so it isn't a huge issue for me. I checked all of the discs and they all worked as far as I can tell, unless it ends up skipping during an episode or something. Also, I was worried that the seasons with French cases would play in French, but upon playing them, they're completely in English by default so you don't have to worry about changing the language around or anything.I would recommend this box set as long as you don't plan on displaying it because of the mix and matching of the cases, but otherwise it's great and at a better price than other places I've seen!

This series was created out of love for the original movie. It's 5 seasons equal 50 episodes and every episode continues from the previous one. If you binge watch it, it's like watching a very long movie but it always keeps you interested. It does seem as though the writers knew what they were doing right from the first episode. It seems as though the entire series was mapped out from the beginning to be a 5 season show with 50 episodes. The plot just continues in perfect continuity and ends on a very tragic but excellent note. Freddy Highmore and Vera Farmiga were absolutely perfect for each other as Norman and his mother. This series is suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat at times. I like a lot of TV shows out there but this one is very special to me because it was intelligent and beautifully written. Every character in the series was important and kept the show going smoothly as a story. I don't remember ever having even one recurring character who was bad for the show. I couldn't stop watching it when I came home from work every day. I just kept wanting to watch each episode until it just got too late for me to stay up anymore. Great show, great cast, great storyline and one of my favorites of all time.

Bates Motel is one of my favorite shows, and I highly recommend the show itself. However, I'm here to review the product rather than the show. Something seems to be peculiar about the production of these Bates Motel blu-ray sets. I read some reviews that made me a little nervous, such as people's new discs skipping, even when they exchanged for another set. But I ordered anyway.I've gone through a few of these sets now (one bought new through eBay and 3 through Amazon) to try to find the best set that I could. No set has been perfect. One Amazon copy even arrived with visible wear on the edges of the box despite being listed as new.The issues I've had with the sets include the discs occasionally skipping or freezing (even if the disc appeared entirely clean and undamaged) and some discs frequently displaying snow (like static) on the TV screen before loading menu selections and such, resulting in extra wait times. There was an instance where one of these flawed discs even seemed to freeze my blu-ray player and I couldn't get any buttons on my player to work until I unplugged and reset it.There are commercials and excessive warning screens at the beginning of all discs. There aren't as many bonus features as I hoped, but I enjoyed what it has.The menu layout of one of the seasons does not match the layout of the rest of the seasons in the set: in this different season, no episode titles are shown in the main menu, only episode numbers, and the entire menu consists of icons rather than words, which I found annoying. This difference was consistent with each set of the show I received. I don't know why they wouldn't make all seasons uniformly designed in a set like this.In the end, I settled on keeping the best out of the sets I received. I was able to return a couple of the sets easily. Unfortunately, while I was watching through the show and figuring out which set was best, my return window closed on one of the extra sets, so I sold the extra set on eBay at a loss (because I had to be honest about it being a flawed product -- unlike Amazon).As some folks in the reviews seem happy with theirs, I'm guessing some sets are less flawed or maybe not even flawed at all (although I really doubt that at this point). I did not have great luck with any of the sets I received -- in fact, these flaws with such an expensive product ($90) are really not acceptable, or shouldn't be, but I was determined to own the show on blu-ray and became convinced it wasn't possible to get a perfect set. Just be aware that ordering this product is a bit of a dice roll. Good luck!

Great series and cast

The set itself came as expected and the discs work great. The series is also a good series and I recommend it to anyone. If however you are buying this with the expectation of getting a digital copy along with the discs, I would exercise a bit of caution. These have been sitting around with Amazon for quite some time and by the time you get a hold of them, the digital codes have already expired. I contacted Universal about this and they told me that they are unable to honor/give me new codes because they were already expired and that the digital copies are included with the set as a courtesy (why they expire in the first place is beyond me). They stated they couldn't give me new codes but gave me several free movies in lieu of the expired copies so they tried to remedy it.Long story short, if the digital copies are something that really matters to you, it is best to look around a bit and make sure that you are getting a set that hasn't been sitting around for a while.

Most of the discs were fine until I got to Season 3 Disc 3 where the disc had a small crack in it that made my player make weird noises and caused skipping during playing. Overall there havent been any issues since but always sad when the series can’t be continued as it should be. I’ll just have to skip these episodes when watching again in the future.** edit: on the second watch through more discs are slipping during play. Very frustrating.

Binged this series and it was excellent! Discs all worked well also. Worth the buy

El producto llegó rápido y en excelente estado. Es una serie buenísima que expande el universo de "Psicósis" de Alfred Hitchcock mostrándonos la historia de Norman Bates cuando era adolescente y cómo su madre manipuladora y controladora termina convirtiéndolo en el monstruo en el que vemos en la joya del cine de 1960. Excelentes actuaciones de Freddie Highmore y de Vera Farmiga.Mi única queja y advertencia para potenciales compradores en México, es que el paquete de la serie completa en Blu-ray NO contiene audio y subtítulos en otro idioma que no sea el inglés, así que si no saben ese idioma, evítense gastarse una buena cantidad de dinero en adquirir este paquete, y mejor compren las temporadas por separado.

J ai pris beaucoup de temps pour magasiner cette article et aujourd hui très déçu le 1 juste anglais le 2 fr euro le 3 fr 5.1 dts ok le 4 fr 5.1 ok le 5 fr euro pas du tout comme l annonce c étais bien marquer french DTS 5.1 devrais être mieu spécifier j en ai que deux sur les 5 ok l annonce devrais être changer pour les prochains acheteur

Este producto lo tuve que devolver porque no traía idioma español hablado ni subtítulos en español. El problema es que lo devolví desde el 25 de febrero y en el status de la página sigue como si aún no lo devolviera, hoy es 10 de marzo y no sé nada.
