Best pen ever
I have been searching for a long time for a pen which is comfortable, writes smoothly, can be refilled cheaply. This pen fits the bill. The pen is made out of quality matte black metal and a firm squishy grip. It takes Jetstream refills, which you can buy cheaply in bulk on Amazon in different colors and points. The pen comes with a 1mm black fill. I switched it out for a .7mm blue fill. Both fills write very smoothly and easily without skipping. The shape of the pen rests very comfortably in your palm and the grip relieves wrist strain from writing. As a student, I find that I no longer have any pain in my hands when using this pen like I had in the past. It looks reallly cool in person, with a blue to black gradient effect on the grip. It weighs a perfect amount for control without burden. I love using this pen in general because the grip feels so nice when you write. It doesn't attract lint or dusst like other gel grips. I have two, one for my purse and one for my backpack. The refills are only about 1 dollar, I bought them in bulk so I don't have to worry about it for a while. I've had this pen for about 2 months and I'm extremely satisfied with it. In my opinion, its the best quality pen you can get for the money of this type. I love that it is a clicky roller ball, so it is very smooth and there are no caps to lose. When I let people burrow my pen (while I keep a watchful eye on them!), they remark that it's really cool and comfortable. I can imagine myself using this pen for a long time.

Super smooth writing!
I always love this brand but this pen type was new to me. The ink is so smooth, and the grip and weight of the pen are perfect. I prefer a fine point pen and this is perfect. Highly recommend - just wish they had refills in more colors though.

nice pen
This is not a cheap pen. I suggest first seeing if you like the Uniball Jetstream experience by yrying a cheaper model, they have ones with plastic barrels. The ink in these is unique, its a cross between ballpoint and rollerball. It does not smudge, rarely blots, and has smooth writing. If you prefer a little more effort in the strokes than you should stick with a ballpoint. The casing is metal and t has a nice weight. The clip is sturdy and it fits well in a shirt pocket. The soft cushioning is nice, it must be a gel silicate, so dont try and eat it. As this pen is ony sold in Japan I would think that adds a premium to the price. Great pen for $8 but at $10 plus its a four star.

Great pen body….. Worth the price
As of February 2023, I’m glad to say this pen body is still compatible with Pentel EnerGel ink refills. So as for the pen itself, this is a very well made product. It does not feel cheap, and it has a good weight to it. The "gel" is thankfully at a level where I like it. It's not too soft or as firm as cheap rubber—a perfect in-between. Unfortunately, I can’t speak too much for Uni's ink, as I switched it out immediately for a Pentel LRN5, but I’m happy it’s still compatible after reading troubling rumors that the newer models don’t work with Pental ink. I bought this pen for long hours of note taking in college and improving penmanship. I’d say I made a good choice with this purchase. If you are concerned about the newer models' incompatibility, I would buy them now at whatever the price is before it's too late.
