Lamysafari EF Extra Fine Nib Fountain Pen - Blue

As a child I absolutely loved Lamy Fountain Pen now years later, I just had to buy one, for my daughter . She writes everyday is left Handed and writes with her Lamy every day .She started writing with the Pen when she was very young , after six years the Pen still looks like new and just writes amazing.The Fountain pen is very user friendly and ergonomic. I would definitely recommend the product.

I purchased this pen to use for work. I'm left handed and have used fountain pens for many years as I've found them practical and easy to use. I normally buy ordinary fountain pens with slightly wider/almost italic nibs that aren't specifically designed for left hander's as I've not had any problems using these. I needed another pen just for red ink and decided to purchase this left handed one to see it felt better and was easier to use. My experience so far is that it's not and hasn't made any difference. I write in an upright position from the front, not with my hand held in an "upside down" position, have been using daily and can feel no difference. It's a nice light pen, so if you want something more substantial in feel, this is probably not for you. It's reasonably priced, slightly more expensive than the one for right handed. Although the reviews I read leaned towards defining the nib as wide, I would say that the nib isn't wide, but average, giving an average size mark - not wispy thin. My preference is for a wider nib, as the mark is more distinct, but It's not my main writing pen, and I alternate it with other. In short I would say it's a nice pen to have in a collection - it's my 3rd go to pen of choice - a good pen for beginners as well. It's good value for money, you may get upset if you lost it, but not as upset as if you lost your best expensive fountain pen - even then you probably wouldn't want to hand it over to anyone else to use!

I bought this pen for my left-handed son. It writes beautifully and smoothly and is much better than the cheaper options available. Most importantly, my son loves it. It looks cool and because it is a left-handed version I am hoping it won't go astray at school the way his previous Lamy pen did. As regards its left-handedness, it doesn't have a twisted nib like some left-handed pens, and I can't see what is left-handed about the nib, but it did write beautifully from the start, whereas right-handed pens start off very scratchy and have to be used and used until they are shaped to write smoothly, and then woe betide you if some 'righty' uses it and reshapes it. (As you can probably tell from the diatribe, I am left-handed too.)However, as the owner of a much more expensive Lamy, I can say that the casing on this pen is a little bit plasticy and a bit angular for my taste. That said, I'd rather the money was spent on the nib and the pen's working quality than on a fancy casing. If you want the fancy casing, you have to spend more (which I did on my own Lamy pen).

I love writing with fountain pens, but always found I sprayed ink when I wrote quick or did big letters. A friend of mine recommended a left handed fountain pen, so I tried this one, as there are very few out there.This pen is extremely well priced for the quality of then pen. It's never let me down or made a mess, and I own several for different colour inks.Some have said it's uncomfortable to use, but it has suited my style really well.

As a left-handed writer, I've always loved the easy flow of a fountain pen. Writing helps me think, so the easier and smoother the pen flows, the faster and lighter my thinking goes. But most pens - designed for right-handers - fail me. They have poor flow and a scratchy feel. This pen is a different experience altogether - it writes fluently and flows reliably. Its wide body fits my idiosyncratic grip without the ponderous weight of a fat-barelled steel pen. It's my absolute ideal, and I've already ordered a second in case I lose the first.

It wouldn’t write

Have used it for a while now and am really impressed. First time I've used a fountain pen for years - all previous attempts ended in big messy writing, with the nib scraping the paper and the ink slow to dry leaving big splashes of ink everywhere as my wrist muddles the text as it goes over it. This pen does neither and is a joy to write with.

I got pen today and all 10 ink cartridges were missing. Returning the pen.
