Perfect set
Nice set for the price. Also the only one I’ve found with the large size extractor

"GOD" exists I'm convinced.
The media could not be loaded. Ok first I'm not a man of religion AT ALL. But I am convinced there has to be an omnipotent force because I simply REFUSE to believe "mankind" is the pinnacle of intelligence. On to my point... I bought a 2015 Freightliner Columbia (my first truck) that was a former FedEx Ground contractor fleet truck. Poorly maintained and neglected 🤦🏾♂️! So I have the pleasure of catching up on the maintenance and repairs. Well the water pump on the Series 60 12.7 was shot so I had to replace it. Replaced it but 6 months down the road it was leaking oil from the bottom where the pump mates to the back of the front cover case. Went to re torque the bolts and noticed the bottom bolt closest to the block was missing somehow. Bought a bolt from the Freightliner dealer to put in the whole only to have my heart drop because it wouldn't seat nor thread in 😱😱! It was at this moment I cursed every carbon based organism and every derivative from the periodic table 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬! Drained the system, took the pump off only to notice the gasket failed and caused the oil leak. Ok! So took my phone and videoed the hole to see the bolt. YEP.. it's broke in the casing. So I ordered a long, slim center punch, reverse drills and the Irwin bolt extractor. Center helped but drilling into a broken screw blind is difficult. After 2 hours of drilling, sweating and potty mouthing I finally drilled a hole in the broken bolt. Put the Irwin extractor in the bolt hole blindly and tapped it twice semi hard. Closed my eyes and said "God.. I don't bother you for nothing. But today I need your help here so I can feed all these damn kids I have 🤣🤣!". So I put a cresent wrench on the extractor and turned slowly and it started twisting out 😮! I smiled, kinda chuckled and said "Thank you" Am I still a depressed, angry, overweight, business owning GENXer that struggles with insomnia, high blood pressure and not procreating? AB-SO-LUTELY👍🏽! BUT.. GOD and I are now familiar strangers 🤗🤗!

Screw Extractor Limitation
Despite the apparent quality, the screw extractor proved impractical for removing the faucet screw. I assessed the required drilling depth as too deep, posing an unacceptable risk of damage. Therefore, I chose to modify the screw head for a flathead screwdriver instead.

Incredibly strong and effective.
I used the second-to-the largest for removing a pipe nipple that had broken off in the bung at the top of my large air compressor. I had tried a straight, fluted pipe nipple remover that didn't have a hope of working. The Irwin spiral flute extractor worked perfectly. I had to resort to an 18 inch crescent wrench but with slow and steady pressure and a lot of torque, it finally broke free. I used some PB Blaster to prep it about a day beforehand. I was really reefing on that wrench thinking the extractor would likely break, but it did the job and came through it like a champ with absolutely no damage to the extractor but certainly some great and effective gouges on the inside of the pipe nipple. Thanks for a great product. I now have my working compressor back and a pouch full of extractors ready for my next task.

Worked...
...exactly as expected 👍

Broke
Broke of while turning with wrench. Hard steel burned through bits to dig out. Project farm says Bosch is better so I’ll try that.

Awesome purchase
Can’t say how thankful I am for this set. It paid for itself the first time I used it.I had two brass fittings that broke off in my air compressor manifold during transport, when it fell over.I was looking at having to buy a whole new manifold and disassemble the motor and top to remove the old manifold. With this set of extractors, I was able to remove both pcs. I had already drilled on them and tried to use a flat head screwdriver previously. So, they were chewed up a little.Still, that didn’t stop these from working. I first tapped the bit into the hole securely. Then I used a 12pt socket on a 1/2” wrench and slowly turned it until I was able to back the broken pc right out. This is the best purchase I’ve made on Amazon in a long time.It saved me a whole lot of money and time.
