The original headphones are fabric and will get dirty almost immediately. inexpensive and easy to wipe down with a wipe or just damp paper towel if you don’t want to use harsh chemicals. You can also take them off and wash them thoroughly with soap and water. Just make sure you let them dry completely before putting them back on

I got these covers to use in my AirPod Max Headphones during my outdoor walking and trekking trips to protect them from sweat, perspiration and to keep the original cushions clean and dry. The good thing is that the covers are very comfortable and are simple to install and hold in place. The only “but” is that the fit in the inside is not perfect (which doesn’t affect the use) and don’t follow precisely the inner form of the original cover cushions in the headphones. This is the only little "flaw" that should be corrected.Overall, is an inexpensive protection that is worth to try with your AirPod Max. Recommended.(Reviewed by Handyman)

These silicone earcup covers for the Apple Airpod Maxes work as intended. They protect the fabric cover material frum smudges, dirt, oils, and debris. However, they are quite thin and don't fit perfectly around the inner part of the ear cups. The silicone pinches inward slightly, which is a bit annoying visually but does not affect their function. I give these 4/5 as they still work as intended.
