Great book, I may summarize it for you
I love this book. I read sales books in my spare time. The content is 5 stars but I lowered it to 4, the reason why is going to save you some time, but it's worth the read anyway. The author was behind my childhood (I'm over 30 now). Not cartoons, but all those things I'd get up to watch before the Ninja Turtles. Those weird blenders may have been him and just about anything marketed in my teens. Anyway my point, I received 3 takeaways from it (and folded others but the book is no longer with me). The take-aways in my memory are such:1) When selling, accent the value points PER audience. He never figured this out, at least not the short version. If you note what items of benefit he lines up with every product, you'll note that his "what to give as info" always matches the value systems of the target audience. This is my 4 star rating, as he empirically looks at the audience, product, and what works, but never draws that relation.2) Find a mentor.3) Be passionate.3.5) Break a few rules, eg: Move forward using your passion. For example, the time when he asked a celeb to come on the show for free, because the celeb didn't want to do anything for pay. I don't know if this is a take-away or a mindset. It's a combination of humor, guts, wit, and forming relations with unmet (yet) strangers. That said, I do believe the entire book is worth a read, if nothing more than to see the life of how early TV was created, as far as this part of the business

Brilliant marketing & copywriting book -- powerful tactics!
This is one of my top 3 favorite marketing/copywriting books of the year (also get Eugene Schwartz' Breakthrough Advertising, and Joe Sugarman's books). As an internet marketer and producer of internet infomercials, I found the insights shared by Steven to be priceless. The checklist on page 194 has helped me make thousands in sales improvements on a single campaign, and the inclusion of actual scripts and objection-handling phrases and marketing perspective was absolutely stunning.Scott's a brilliant man, and this is one book that I will refer to for years (especially all the later chapters where his best secrets are revealed -- crucial stuff for marketers and copywriters). Buy this book -- one of my all time favorites, and I've bought hundreds.

Excellent
I read this after his other book, Simple Steps to Impossible Dreams. Both are excellent and rereading them a couple of years later helps remind me of important point I need to address in my life's progress. We need repeated reminders for our minds and memories forget the fine points. I've purchased an extra copy of Simple Steps and had it delivered to a friend and recommended this book as a supplement.

Amazing Book
I am a big Steven Scott fan and his books are full of some of the best wisdom I have seen. This guy in my opinion is a master communicator. You can't go wrong living by the things he says in this book. I ultimately want to read all his books. His books can change your life for the better. He really knows what he is talking about.
