Can you use the F701-R filter with this tank?

No problem with this filter for Insinkerator Tanks

This must be a like for like swap for the 44317 gn1100c as cupboard space is at a minimum, and the tank is leaking. is it the same dimensions ?

We had same issue and swapped to that one and it’s the same dimensions

Can i use this to replace a hwtf-1 tank?

I believe you can but I haven’t done that.

Does this item feed both hot and cold water to our tap?

This product supplies a filtered cold as well as hot, although both feeds are a small plastic tube which is designed only to connect to the tap that should be supplied with the unit. I don’t think this tap is standard and is not meant as a replacement for your sink taps but as an additional tap which can be fixed to a separate hole in either your sink or worktop.
