Hefty hammer that makes a neuro exam much easier
The weight of the hammer makes eliciting reflexes much easier. Since it telescopes, it is comfortable to use without needing to bend down to reach the tendon. I use this regularly and the quality has held up over time.

Not half bad if you need to carry your hammer around the floor...
It's not bad. I wish the telescoping segments were a little sturdier and maybe a little better finished. (e.g. with a nice matte vs. the cheap shiny look). But otherwise it's a decent compromise between my MDF Tromner (which is my favorite hammer but also wicked heavy) and a cheaper lightweight Taylor. Buy it if you need something compact to carry in your coat around the hospital; if you aren't I would suggest the Tromner or a full size Queen Square if you like that style better.

READ REVIEW on how to open/re-orient the head!
The media could not be loaded. Love this hammer. Feels very sturdy, not cheap, with a nice heavy swing.Took me FOREVER to figure out how to orient the top to be horizontal. It's not clear from the product video at all. The answer is that after expanding it out slightly to give yourself some room, pull DOWNWARD on the rough bit just below the head (DON'T pull UPward on the head, as i'd been trying to do for the longest time). This will release the head, allowing you to rotate the head to the horizontal orientation and then allow it to snap back into the tube. Hope this helps someone. (See attached video)
