Great cordless strimmer/ bush cutter - worth it if you
I already have a lawnmower with this range. So having the batteries was not an issue and I wanted to stay in the same ecosystem. So the actual machine is brilliant. Easy to put together. I know some people have complained but it is straightforward. Just need to follow the diagramatic sheet WITH the written explanation in the manual. Also available online. Worth take a copy for the future.Easy to get bush cutter head on. The strimmer is simple and effective. Bump feed works well. The really benefit is the power and ease of use. There is hardly any vibration. This is really important after doing couple weeks of strimming. There is also a lot said for techniques - start at the top any long grass, take your time and shortening slowly from the top with 4-5 sweeps; don’t be tempted to go in at the bottom. The machine is nicely weighted and with the strap over the shoulder gives you good control and comfortable operation. The battery at the end balances the weight perfectly. The downside - the batteries (2AH) will last about 15-20 mins on very tall grass about 1.5 foot high which is quite good. On shorter grass, feasible to a 10-15 metre square area easily on one battery. I have found that I have had to use about 4 batteries to cover about 250 square metre area with heavy growth. I have a rapid charger which takes about 30-45 minutes to charge the 2AH batteries - about an hour for the normal charger. So I use the batteries in rotation and charge as I am going along. Be aware that there is reduced charging if the battery is hot.So overall a brilliant cutter especially if you a number of Gardenworks products ; less good if you have a large area to cover and will need to buy 2-3 batteries at £70-80 each. The 4AH batteries are good but can’t them these days.

Grass Trimmer
Not particularly lightweight, not very easy to assemble. but it it a great piece of kit; very powerful. It does an excellent job. I'm very pleased with it.

Great as both a strimmer and brush cutter
Firstly it's quite heavy and awkward but a simple tip I found from a guy on you tube, was to place head where battery fits underneath arm pit. It balances and holds some of weight. It's a female thread on the screw you attach trimmer or brushcutter. Which just means it screws on and off in the opposite direction to what you think. Took me a few minutes to realise this. Once I did whole thing was easy. Mine came with neither attachment fitted. I fitted the brushcutter first which is by far the easiest of two to fit. The strimmer is a bit more of a challenge. Use gravity to your advantage. Position the part the strimmer goes onto pointing upwards. Then screw the syrimmer attachment in a downwards direction to fit it. Remember it screws on opposite as it's a female thread. The annoying part? The screw which is built into the head of the strimmer, moves. It's not fixed so ots a little awkward. But persevere and you have a fantastic tool.

Good heavy duty performance
Easy to assemble and use. It is a large and quite heavy machine but the balance is good and it is easy to handle. I used it to clear a large patch of high weeds and it performed admirably. When removing the spool to fit the blade the thread is left-handed so you e to turn it clockwise to unscrew it. The battery lasts a really long time so you easily clear a very large area without changing batteries. I tried using it for edging but as there is no way to support the head it is quite difficult to use it for that.

A disaster from start to finish
I used to be a fan of Greenworks products. We have a lawnmower, chainsaw, leaf blower and hedge trimmer, and have been happy with all of them. This product however proved a disaster from start to finish. It broke twice within minutes of operation and felt unsafe to use. Here is a list of issues. 4 and 7 were the two breakages which led to us returning the product.1. Trimmer head too stiff to be removed until the unit had been used.2. Red battery light flashed within minutes of operation, suggesting the battery was dead (it wasn't - the battery could be used in other Greenworks devices). This happened constantly throughout operation with both trimmer and brush cutter.3. Shoulder strap was too short. Even at maximum length, a tall person (6ft) has to stoop.4. Guard broke within 3 minutes of using the brush cutter - piece of black plastic snapped off, leaving operator partially unprotected between blade and leg.5. Brush cutter was extremely uncomfortable to use. The vibrations were so extreme they sent shudders right up the operator's body, and the unit could only be used for a few seconds at a time.6. No indication of which speed setting was which. Both settings were very fast.7. Within 10 minutes of operation, the rectangular piece of metal for attaching the guard to the guard cap flew off into the grass. Upon inspection, all 4 screws had loosened during operation, fallen off and were lost somewhere in the undergrowth. This was the final straw. The unit felt dangerous to use. We stopped using it immediately and had no hesitation in returning it for a refund. I would not buy this device again.8. As a final insult, the brush cutter was then too tight to remove and fit inside the box. This attachment is supposed to be easily removable to alternate between trimmer and brush cutter. The bolt to attach it to the head sits within a cup which means it can't be tightened or loosened using an ordinary spanner - a ridiculous design flaw.

So much better than a 'normal' strimmer
The thicker than usual line means it doesn't break all the time (always a massive point of frustration with all previous trimmers I've owned). And the tool as a whole is a lot heavier duty. Really pleased with it.

Good unless you want a brush cu
This is the real deal when it comes to a strimmer. Powerful and effective. The instructions are appalling. Trying to put the brush cutter head on I discovered the supplied nut didn't fit. And getting the strimmer head on after that is no fun at all. If you want a good strimmer it's fine. If you want to switch between strimmer and brush cutter I'd look elsewhere.
