Paraffin Ointment Emolient, Bath Additive and Skin Cleanser for Dry Skin Conditions 500g

I actually get this on prescription but had run out and could get it quicker from Amazon. If, like me, you have extremely dry skin, you need this! It is very greasy and therefore messy! I always sit around in my pyjamas or joggys for an hour after applying this before putting any decent clothes on. BUT the first time I used it I thought I could hear my skin breathing a sigh of relief! I've gone from feeling like my skin condition was controlling my life to feeling like im controlling it. Totally recommend it

This emollient cream is a 50/50 mix of liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin ointment. My hands are very dry and get cracks so I had high hopes for this cream. The write-up for the cream says it’s ‘a non-greasy skin ointment’ so I thought it wouldn’t be too greasy and that I might be able to use it like a moisturising cream. But no, it actually is quite greasy and doesn’t sink in, so I had to wash it off as I couldn’t do anything with greasy hands, even though I didn’t put much on. The only reasonable way for me to use it is to put it on my hands at night and put gloves on, but even then I need to wash it off in the morning. I know it is good for all sorts of skin conditions and can be used in the bath and as a cleanser, but for me personally, it doesn’t work well on my hands, which is really what I wanted it for. It is a large 500g tub at a very reasonable price and should last a long time though.
