Effective and Reliable Phosphate Remover for Aquariums
I’m absolutely thrilled with Seachem PhosGuard and here’s why I’m giving it a 5-star review:1. Excellent at Removing Phosphates: I’ve been dealing with high phosphate levels in my aquarium for a while, and Seachem PhosGuard has been a game-changer. After using it for just a few days, I noticed a significant reduction in algae growth, which was one of my main concerns. The product works efficiently at removing phosphates, improving water clarity, and maintaining the overall health of my tank.2. Easy to Use: The 100 mL bag is convenient and easy to place in the filter. It’s designed to be used in a filter bag, which makes it super simple to add to your system. I also appreciate that it’s not messy and doesn’t leave any residue in the tank once it’s in place.3. Safe for Aquatic Life: I love that Seachem PhosGuard is safe for my fish and plants. I’ve had no negative effects on the aquatic life in my tank after using it, which is a huge relief. It’s one of the reasons I trust Seachem products—they’ve always proven to be gentle on sensitive ecosystems.4. Fast-Acting Results: The results were quick! My water cleared up in just a few days after starting to use it. You can see the improvement in the clarity of the water and a reduction in algae build-up. If you have any phosphate-related issues in your tank, this product will definitely help.5. Long-Lasting: While the bag is small, it goes a long way! The 100 mL lasts quite a while, and you can reuse it for multiple cycles. This makes it a cost-effective solution for keeping phosphate levels in check.6. Great for Freshwater and Saltwater Tanks: I’ve used this in both my freshwater and saltwater aquariums with great success. Whether you’re managing a fish-only tank or a reef tank, this product works across the board.7. Reliable Brand: Seachem is a brand I’ve trusted for years, and this product lived up to the high standards I’ve come to expect from them. Their products are always effective and reliable, and PhosGuard is no exception.Final Thoughts: If you’re battling high phosphate levels in your aquarium, Seachem PhosGuard is a must-have. It’s effective, easy to use, and safe for both fish and plants. The results are noticeable quickly, and I’ll definitely be keeping this product stocked in my aquarium maintenance supplies!🌟 Highly recommend for anyone needing to reduce phosphates and improve water quality in their tank!

Quickly solved my phosphate problem!
I have a 7 1/2 gallon aquarium that was constantly having a 10.0 phosphate level on API's phosphate test kit. I'd read that Chemipure Blue and Chemipure Elite can remove phosphates, so I tried both of those. Unfortunately, those didn't work, as the phosphate level stayed at or near 10.0 for the most part. Then, I tried doing more frequent water changes, but that didn't help either. I came across this product and gave it a try. After 2 days, there was no change, but on the 7th day after adding this product, the phosphate level had been lowered to 0.0!I'd been having major problems with algae (due to the phosphates, no doubt), but since using this, I've gotten very minimal algae growth in the tank. Good product --- I wish I'd found it sooner.

Actually works
Was skeptical, but dramatically brought down phosphates in around a week.

I am blown the **** away!!!!
I am absolutely blown away by this product. I had brown algae all over my tank and I knew it crucial that I get rid of it before it sucks all the oxygen out my tank and kill all babies. Truth be told I was super hesitant at first but dang this product worked like a charm. Just for reference I have a 20 gallon long and I used two bags. Day one I put one bag on top of my sponge filter and the other behind it as my inhabitants were very curious. Day two woke up that morning and I it was like a dream super clear and all the algae was gone. Day three still going strong but I’m going to have to get another one as the brown algae is still putting up a fight. Definitely recommend this product and will be getting again plus it’s cheaper than the pet-store I work at.

Great filter media but make sure it has good water flow over it
This product works as described, and I recommend it to others.I was having a phosphates problem for a while in my salt water tank at work because some of my macro algae had broken down in a spot I couldn't reach and was decaying there. I also, unbeknownst to me for a while, had an reverse osmosis/de-ionization filter system that wasn't pulling all the phosphates out of my top-off water. Bottom line, I was able to get the problem in better control using PhosGuard. That's good because the excess phosphates were really feeding some hair algae that had sprung up in my tank. The one thing that you have to note about this product is that it really needs to be in a place where it gets good water circulation over the media. I haven't had much luck in applications where there isn't much flow going directly over the PhosGuard.Additionally, depending on the prices at the time of purchase, you may be able to save money by buying a bag for the PhosGuard and buying the larger quantities of PhosGuard. Once when I did the math, it was about the same price to just keep buying these 100 mL bags, but the next time I needed some it was cheaper to buy the bag and the larger bottle of PhosGuard. Apparently the price of these fluctuate a bit.Other than that, I recommend this to others trying to keep phosphates under control.

Helps your tank stay clean
This product ensures my fish tank stays sparkling clear. I haven’t recharged the item myself. Usually I just purchase a new one every so often (once it turns dark brown) . Helps with cloudy water.

Removes silicates
Like the product states it removes silicates from the water column. I recently set up a 33 gallon bow front for my wife using a mix of pool sand and natural colored gravel. Within a week I had brown (diatom) algae on the glass and the rocks and plants(artificial). After buying this product and dropping the enclosed mesh bag into the filter area of her tank the algae has disappeared, will continue to monitor for diatoms and may need a second or third bag to annihilate the silicates but for $5 a bag it won’t break the bank

Somewhat worked
You would need this in the early start of your tank cycling to maintain (Brown Algae). In order for it to work, you'll need a canister filtration to have a pressurized flow to work efficiently. Also I have 40gal breeder, so I would have needed 2 instead of one.
