I love these magnets...no idea what the rate feature "sheerness" means, as these are magnets that keep curtains clamped shut; I overlapped the curtains so no light would come through and, even when the window is open on a windy day, the magnets keep the curtains closed. Because they are also like pins, you could, if you had to, tack even the thickest drapes closed, not using the magnetic part at all, and just pinning them closed after overlapping. Anyway, LOTS of uses for this product, so get creative!

The backing thing is loose on the pin and wobbles, but it hasn't fallen off. So it's doing the job and it magnetises well enough, that during high winds from a storm the curtains stayed attached together.

Bough for use in multiple rooms but mainly for the curtains in my infants room. They are easy to attach and the magnets are nice and strong. I was searching for curtain magnets that would sit a little tighter to the curtain itself and these do not do that like you see in the initial picture. They hold well but definitely allows for gaps between the curtains due to not being so tight to the fabric no matter how well you push the back on. Marked down purely for this reason. The product for the price is great if you are okay with it bulking out a little bit

these do not secure your drapes flat together to block the light. they only keep them together for pulling.the design leaves a one inch gap between the two drapes which renders them completely useless.

I have four smaller panels of black out curtains over triple sliders and they work just fine. The curtain material is not very heavy so these magnets hold it together well. There are enough that I could put three pairs at each opening and the gaps stay together so the sun stays out. I would imagine if the curtain fabric was heavier they would hold but only when stationery, and if the material was too thick it might be hard to get the pin part of the magnet through it. The backs are a little hard to get off until you figure out how to do it.

Pins are too long causing the magnets to hang loosely from the curtains and create gaps. Magnets are also thick and weak. A simple, round tie tack would be much more effective for pinning curtain panels together. Would love to know where to find proper curtain panel clasps like my mother had back in the 1960's!
